The sun was shining brightly into the room, which is what woke me up. I got up and went to close the curtains.

I checked the time on my phone and it read 9:02 AM, and it's a Saturday. Troy has likely went on to practice since the weekends are his practice days. I pushed the dresser away from the door and went into the bathroom to take a shower since I failed to take one last night.

When I got out I heard my texts sound off.

Caleb ♥️: we're having a game night tonight, wanna come?
9:26 AM

I'll be there.
9:27 AM

Promise.
9:28 AM

I finished getting dressed and sat on the bed afterwards.

Troy: Wyd baby
9:30 AM

Just woke up.
9:31 AM

Troy: look I'm sorry about last night I hope you forgive me. I want you to come with me tonight to a party with my coach and teammates
9:32 AM

I can't.
9:33 AM

Instead of texting back, he called.

I sighed, "Hello?"

"Why can't you come? You goin' out wit' that bitch ass bestfriend of yours?"

"No, Troy, I'm going to spend time with my family." I said

"This is a very important party and having you by my side shows I have your support—it's good for my image." He explained

"I...can't, Troy. I promised." I said

It went silent and then he hung up. I didn't bother to call back.

I sat back and sighed. I want to attend this game night to show not only my parents, but also my brother that I'm serious about including them in my life and how important they are to me, but only lord knows how Troy will react and what he will do if I don't attend this fake party with him tonight.

I checked online to make sure we had no new assignments due and sat back and looked at TV. I was bored, no one to talk to, I did everything I needed to do—there's nothing left for me to do.

But nap.

"Get yo' ass up—so you really not coming with me tonight?" Troy asked, standing over me

"First of all back up. I told you I can't come." I said, wiping my eyes

"Tell yo' family you'll reschedule, yes you are." He said while taking his shirt off

"No. I've already bailed out on them for so many of your events, I can't keep doing that." I said

He ignored me while he took his clothes off, "We'll see." He said and walked out of the room
