Prologue

Y/n POV - 10 years old

I was smacked across the room.

As I landed, I felt my bones break from impact.

Tai: get up you ungrateful brat!

I stood, slowly to regain my balance, but I was hit across the face again.

Tai: I said get up!

I felt warm tears in my eyes as I stood again.

I get a bottle shatter on my forehead.

Tai: get me another drink!

I felt blood pool from my forehead as I limped you the kitchen.

As I brought his drink back I was shoved to the ground by one of my "siblings".

I felt myself land on the bottle, breaking it and sending glass into my chest.

Yang: Daddy! Y/n broke your drink!

Tai: you little shit!

I felt the blood pool below me.

I was yanked to my feet and thrown across the room.

Tai: go to your room you ungrateful piece of garbage!

I got up, forcing myself to go to the attic regardless of my wounds.

I cried to myself when I got there.

Why do they do this? Why don't they just kill me?

Ruby, Yang and Tai all hated me, used me as a punching bag.

Then Raven would sometimes do the same when she came over, but she would also rape me.

Why all of this? Because apparently it's somehow my fault Summer died.

My uncle Qrow was cool though. He would hit me now and then, but not out of anger or anything but only to fool Tai. He also wouldn't put as much force and, with his help with acting, can act like I was truly injured by him. He was an amazing uncle.

As I cried I heard someone come in. Then I was thrown into a wall.

Yang: come on "big brother"! Let's play!

I looked over, seeing my younger siblings Yang and Ruby looking at me(Yang is 8, Ruby is 6).

I saw Ruby smiling innocently, while holding a knife.  Yang has her fists ready.

I stood up, ready to fight back but Ruby stabbed my leg with the knife.

I was then punched numerous times across the face. I felt one go straight onto my left eye and as I got away, I felt a scar across my eye.

I fell to my knees, angry.

I heard them walk up behind me, ready to attack me.

Y/n: get out

Yang grabbed me and pulled me up by my hair.

Yang: what was that punching bag?

I felt my eye twitch.

Y/n: I said get out

I grabbed her arm and started to squeeze it.

At first nothing happened, but after a few seconds I heard her scream in pain and drop me.

I turned towards her, seeing I crushed her arm.

Ruby: Daddy!

I grabbed them by their throats, lifting them into the air. As I did, I felt strength flow into my as I gave off a faint red/orange glow.

Y/n: get out!

I tossed them out the door and down the stairs from the attic.

I heard them crying in pain and I saw Tai rush to them.

He looked at them, then up at me.

Tai: you piece of shit!

He climbed the stairs, getting to me. He towered over me, but I held my ground.

He backhanded me but I didn't move.

He then punched me in the nose and I felt the wound heal quickly.

I punched him in the chest, sending him flying backwards.

I looked down at my fists, seeing the raw strength I had.

I smirked as i walked down the stairs and past my 3 abusers.

I then walked out the door.

That was my escape.

Time skip

I traveled across The Patch, trying to find somewhere to live.

As I walked through an alleyway in a town, I heard a baby crying.

I followed it, leading my to an abandoned Baby.

I looked at the child, picking him up.

He couldn't have even been a year old.

I looked at the child and he stopped crying as I held him. After a minute he had fallen asleep in my arms.

I looked at him once more before smiling to myself.

Y/n: looks like I'll be watching over you little one. What is your name?

I looked at the sleeping baby, seeing a small string necklace with a tag on it.

Atreus

Y/n: so you're named Atreus, huh? Well then, you're now in my care

After that day, I promised myself that this kid would never have to go through the hell I went through.

I'd protect him with my life.
