Chapter 2

Y/n POV

I grabbed onto Atreus, holding him close and putting my shield up.

Y/n: Atreus! Hold on!

Atreus: holding Father!

We were flying towards the ground.

As we crashed I felt him leave my arms.

I got up, a few scraps here and there, but worried.

Y/n: Atreus! Atreus!

Atreus: over here father!

I turned to his voice, seeing him stand up off the ground, covered in dirt.

I ran to him, making sure he was ok.

Y/n: are you alright?

He nodded.

Y/n: good

I looked around, seeing the Witch's Mark indicating where we had to go.

I grabbed Mirir, before showing him the grimm.

Y/n: Head, what is it?

Mirir: hmmm. That would be a Geist. They take over inanimate objects and use them as a host. For this specific one, aim for the face and hit hard. It will destroy the boulders and allow you to kill the grimm.

I put him back on my hip.

Y/n: boy, stay to the shadows. Fire your light arrows and use the Boar Stampede and try to distract. I shall get to it's face

Atreus: yes Sir

I then ran straight at it.

Ruby POV

Yang: he looks familiar Ruby. His tattoo, his ash white skin

I was trying to remember myself as our team watched him and, I guess his son's initiation.

Weiss: why is a child even aloud here anyway?

Blake: Ozpin must have a reason to allow that boy in

Yang: maybe. Or maybe he's just another weakling like our brother was when he was young

Ruby: that's it!

They looked at me.

Ruby: that has to by Y/n

Yang looked at the guy on screen.

He was on top of the grimm, chained blades shoved into its arms and was using it to attack other grimm surrounding its legs.

Yang: I mean maybe. But who's the kid then?

Ruby; we'll ask when they get back

Y/n POV

I punched it in the head, forcing it to hit the ground, killing more grimm.

I then swung down to its face and started to punch it as hard as I could.

Just after 2 punches, it was extremely cracked and the third broke it.

The rocks fell to the ground, and I saw the grimm try to get away.

Grabbing my axe, I threw it, killing the creature on impact.

I looked at Atreus, seeing him make his way across the rubble.

I cleared a way through the rocks to the temple.

There I saw chess pieces.

Atreus: where's the relic?

He started looking around, but I picked up 2 pieces.

Y/n: the Old Man is a lying sack of shit. These aren't relics

I sighed.

Y/n: let's go Boy. I assume he just meant these

Time skip

Atreus jumped onto my back and I started climbing the cliff back up to Beacon.

Atreus: why did he say relics and not chess pieces?

Mirir: I think it was a way to make sure you gave it your all. Other than that, I have no idea

He jumped off my back onto the ledge and I boosted myself up over it.

In front of us was Ozpin.

I gave him the pieces.

Y/n: those are not relics Old Man

Ozpin: do you think we have anything like a real relic that we could also risk?

Y/n: you could have at least told us what you actually wanted

Ozpin: doesn't matter. You both passed. Just go find your dorm

I pushed past him, walking with Atreus.

As we walked into Beacon, we once again started getting stares from earlier.

Atreus: why are they looking at us?

Y/n: first, you're still a child. Why you are here they do not know. Second is me. I look older than I am and I have this beard. Do you see anyone else who does?

Atreus: no, I guess not

Y/n: exactly

Mirir: then there is me

Y/n: yes, then there is him

Atreus nodded.

After a few minutes we found our dorm.

I opened it, Atreus walking in first.

As I was about to walk in, I heard someone behind me.

Ruby: Y/n?

I looked behind me, seeing Ruby, Yang and 2 other people.

Y/n: what do you want girl?

Yang: Y/n, we're your sisters

I closed the door.

Y/n: no you are not. You never were and you never will be

???: are we missing something?

I looked at the girl wearing white, the one that spoke.

Y/n: you only know part of the truth.

I turned to Ruby and Yang.

Y/n: You should tell the full of it. Then they will know why I did what I did and why I do what I do

I turned around opening the door.

Y/n: I've been through it before with my son. Do it with your friends or it will cause more harm.

I walked in, closing the door behind me.

Atreus: who was it Father?

I saw Atreus putting his bow and quiver down on one side of the room.

Y/n: remember how you asked awhile ago why I never brought up my own family. It is because of what they have done to me.

Atreus: so it was your family?

Y/n: my sisters. I wish for you to not talk to them and my father and aunt if you meet them. My uncle and mother were the only ones who cared about me

I looked out the window, seeing the sun start to set.

Y/n: I wish to rest now. I think you should do the same

He nodded, getting in one of the two beds.

I took my weapons and armor off, putting on some simple fur clothes/armor. Then I got on the second bed, falling to sleep slowly.

My dreams were ok at first, but slowly filled with nightmares of the past.
