Two hours before the events in Seattle...
Friday, October 28th, 2016Y/N's POV
Sean, Lyla and I sat on the school bus; all in seats near or next to each other. I was in the seat next to Sean and Lyla, him sitting on the outside. Nudging Sean I said, "it's almost our stop."
Nodding he grabbed his bag from the floor. The bus stopped, the three of us walking out onto the sidewalk.
Sean was very fixated on his phone.
"Don't be late, losers!" Yelled Lyla to some random kids on the bus. She caught up with Sean and I, peering over his shoulder as he shook his head in annoyance.
"Okay, update time!" She said, grabbing onto his shoulder. He turned around quickly. "You heard back from Jenn yet?"
"Uhm... No..." he paused, "I'm sure she'll reply at some point."
"Let me take a look at the situation." She said, grabbing his phone. "'Hey Jenn, u going to the party tonight?' Dude, we talked about this!"
I laughed, "Jeez could you have any less game?"
Sean snatched his phone back, giving a frustrated sigh. "I'm no good at this! How about: 'Yo Jenn, see you at the party, let me know if I should bring handcuffs'?"
Me and Lyla looked at each other, being quite amused. "Oh my god," I said.
"You thirsty bitch! Here, let 'Lyla The Love Witch' work her magic..." Lyla took his phone back, typing away.
Sean glanced at me, then back to her. "Okay. Just... Don't make me sound like a loser."
"Sean that's impossible." I said.
He walked closer, trying to get a peek at the text. Lyla pushed him back, still typing. "Exactly. I said matchmaker, not miracle worker."
"Hey, hold on, let me check it before you send!"
"Too late!" She responded, the sound of the text being sent rung through the air.
Grabbing his phone he read the message out loud. "'Would be awesome 2 see you there.' What? I could have texted that..."
"It's a good start. She'll text back, you'll see." Lyla replied, the three of us resuming our walking.
"You know... I don't even know if I want to go tonight." Sean said.
"Oh please. It's gonna be fun! You hate every party." Lyla looked at him, scrunching her face up in a mixture of annoyance and disappointment.
I rolled my eyes, "Reasonably so, all parties we go to are the same. There's lots of people, it's way too fucking loud and everybody's hella wasted."
"Yes, (Y/N). You just described... a party!"
Sean's phone got a notification, and he fished his phone out of his pocket quickly.
"C'mon! The suspense is killing me, what'd she say?" I asked, trying to look over his shoulder.
"It's dad, wants to know if me and (Y/N) are coming home after school. Jeez were not ten year olds."
