Chapter 1.4

Li Yun rolled his eyes from the system's suggestion. He continued to immersed himself on what will Ling Xiao's reaction will be when he knew that his beloved Li Yan will prepare a green hat (cheating)  ceremony reserved for him. Well, in the end, he's still the one who will reduce the impact of
Li Yan's action to Ling Xiao! So... meh.~ He lied on his makeshift bed and stared at the tent's ceiling, closed his eyes and said hello to the world of dreams.

The blazing sun covered the entire army camp and the shouts of training soldiers where only the music available to be played in a loop and Li Yun, who was cleaning  the arrows looked at the direction of a staggering soldier reaching towards him. He dropped the arrows he was holding and worriedly looked at his friend's situation.

" Eh? W-What happened? "

Li Yun worriedly asked. He know the soldier. He was his friend, Xiao Ping. He was his first friend since the start of this mess.

Xiao Ping coughed a heavy amout of blood and fell on the ground. He still clutched the wrinkled letter in his last moments.

[ S-System.. He just lost conciousness, right? ]

Li Yun poked the soldiers face while crouching. He refrained his actions and placed his hand at the soldiers wrist.

" N-No pulse?! N-no this was fake, right?! I- I can try to still save him! "

System: "...."

Li Yun didn't believed it and removed the armor of his friend. He placed his ear on his chest and unfortunately, he didn't heard any beat coming from his heart. His friend unjustly died in front of him!

" Fudge!!!! Ming Lan!!!! You're going too far on this prank! You made a man faked his death until it turned real!!! "

System: ".…...." Still indenial til this point, Host?

On the other world...

Ming Lan: A-choo..

" General... X-Xiao Ping... H-he was dead. H-he gave me this letter earlier. G-General, what should we do? "

Li Yun who was trained a few months ago, huff and puff while reporting to Ling Xiao. He saw the man studying a piece of paper littered with characters, lines and drawings.

Ling Xiao hearing a voice behind him turned his back. He noticed the unannouced visit of his future brother-in-law and placed down the map at his table.

He looked at the wrinkled letter placed at his table then toward the man's flushed face while catching his breath, his gaze lingered at his face, particularly his flushed cheeks and pink trembling lips.

' What tempting sight to behold! What am I thinking?! I should think of the situation first! '

Ling Xiao wiped the sweat of his face with his robe. He put his armor and held his sword at his hand, his eyes turned serious and with hint of kiling intent strided outside, not bothering the letter placed on his table.

" Let's go. "

The command echoed inside the room. Li Yun hurriedly run to Ling Xiao side then he noticed the man's questioning gaze.

" What? "

Ling Xiao frowned and pinched the cheeks he was eyeing earlier.

" You don't have weapons. How can you protect yourself? You're also a soldier. I'm not your nanny who was watching you or a bodyguard who'll protect you! I don't even care if you died! You are a soldier first, future brother-in-law was second! "

Ling Xiao sneered and pointed the tip of his sword at the young man's pale face. He retracted it and throw a mocking glare at Li Yun.

" See? I can kill you! So what are you waiting for? "

Li Yun remained standing while Ling Xiao walked further. Li Yun pursed his lips while clutching the wrinkled letter he hurriedly grabbed at the certain someone's table.

He arrived at weaponry and chose his weapon. He hid the letter under his armor and frowned.

Fudging fodder! He didn't read the letter that Xiao Ping delivered with all his might.

The system seemed to read his mind and said with a serious voice, which it rarely used.

Li Yun grabbed a few arrows and a sturdy bow while striding at the battlefield with female warriors and male soldiers fighting for their country.

" We were under siege. "

Li Yun was trained by his fellow soldiers. He was not neglected even in a tiny second. Even the general noticed him when he was slacking.

He can't still forget the pain of his frail arms when stretching the bowstring. He always blamed the frail body of the former host.
