Koichi Hirose

"Today's the day," he thought, walking to the café with a bouquet of roses in hand. "I'll finally confess my love to her.. Josuke better not have lied when saying these flowers will help."

You see, Koichi finally mustered up enough courage to ask you out on a date with him. To his surprise, you actually said yes and today was the day he would share his feelings.

•Flashback•

It was a particularly normal Friday, the sun shining in the sky making everything warm. The sky had little to no clouds, birds were singing in the trees, and squirrels were scampering about. School just let out for the weekend and you and the boys were walking home, along with the other students. "Thank god it's Friday, I thought I wouldn't last much longer.." Okuyasu complained, Josuke agreeing with him while you and Koichi giggled at them. As you all walked, the guys were talking amongst themselves while you cast silent glances at Koichi. You grew a big crush on him during the years you've been friends, but would never say anything as you didn't want to ruin the amazing friendship you had.

The pair of besties eventually parted from the group to go to Josuke's house and play video games, giving you and Koichi some space. He went out of his way to walk you home, making you internally happy but you brushed it off as him being nice. "Thanks for walking me home Koichi, it's really sweet of you." You smiled at him, making his stomach turn and a small blush burn his cheeks. He rubbed the nape of his neck, looking away. "It's no problem really, I like spending time with you." His eyes went wide and he slapped his hand over his mouth, his face turning beet red. You widened your eyes too, but you smiled and gently moved his hand from his mouth and held it.

"You're too sweet, you know that?" Your smile softened as you both stared at each other, your own cheeks feeling hot. After what felt like forever of you getting lost in his beautiful blue orbs, he finally spoke. "Hey um.. y/n, this might sound out of the blue but-" He seemed to gulp nervously as he stared into your e/c eyes. "I was wondering if you'd maybe like to go on a date.. with me.." Your heart felt like it was going to burst from how fast it was beating, a wildfire of warmth spreading through your cheeks. You were internally ecstatic, thinking "Did my crush really just ask me to go on a date with him?!" Of course you said yes, why wouldn't you? "Oh Koichi.. I'd love to." You both grinned, hugging each other tight.

•Present•

Koichi sat there nervously, constantly wiping his sweaty palms and messing with his shirt trying to be calm. He got even more nervous when he didn't see you anywhere, surely you didn't ditch him right? That is until he looked over at the cross-walk.

You were speed walking to the café, looking down at the ground embarrassed. When you finally got to your destination, you immediately bowed to Koichi saying many apologies as to why you were late. "I really am sorry Koichi, I got caught up in picking which outfit to wear and such, and lost track of time, I hope you can forgive me." He let out a small sigh of relief that you were here, but as he finally got a good look at you he gaped. You were wearing an outfit that you thought fit the occasion and had some accessories as well.

"Why does she have to look so good.."
"He looks so handsome in his dress shirt and pants, pretty classy."

You both stared at each other blushing, only to realize it a couple seconds later and squeak out small apologies. "Oh! Um, these are for you, y/n." Koichi stuttered out, handing you the little bouquet of your favorite flowers. "Aw.. they're so pretty, thank you Koichi!" You smiled wide as you inhaled their lovely scent. He blushed but smiled back, watching you do so mumbling "Yeah.. Just like you.." "What was that?" "Nothing! Anyways, I actually asked you to join me here today to tell you something important, y/n.." Your heart sped up at the way your name rolled off his tongue, but you nodded for him to continue.

He took a deep breath before taking one of your hands in his. "y/n, ever since we met you've been the kindest being I've ever known. You put everyone else before you and always offer to help people whenever you can. You're so nice to me and are always there for me, and honestly just the thought of you caring about me makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I've come to realize over the years of our friendship that I love you, more than a friend. That realization has been more prominent lately as even just thinking of your beautiful face makes me smile. Long story short, I love you y/n, and I'd like to ask if you'll be my girlfriend?"

You were frozen, he actually felt the same! You started to tear up as you hugged him tight mumbling "I've waited so long for this day, of course I'll be yours!" Koichi let out a breath he didn't know he was holding as he returned the hug, rubbing small circles on your back. As you two sat there for a moment enjoying each other's loving embrace, he glanced down and noticed you were still holding the flowers he got you, letting out a smile. "Damn, I guess that idiot was right. I'll have to thank him later."

From that moment forward, you and Koichi's relationship blossomed into something beautiful.
