Rule no#25 never abandon a drunk friend.
The game was tied down between Spencer and I versus Lauren and her boyfriend, Kyle. I was surprised that a tiny thing like her could hold down so much alcohol. What surprised me further was the fact that I could hold down so much alcohol without either puking or pass get out, maybe even bother. The rest had passed out long ago, Ginger being the first to Tapout after two shots then Kim felt the effect of the liquor and passed out in Eric's arms. Now it was just the four of us, person to hold down their shots wins.
"We are down to two shots." Luke slurrs. "Who will win?"
Lauren gives me a lazy smile before she grabs her shot and takes a swing.
"Your *hickup* turn Maddy *hickup*" She says.
I look down at my shot and the longer I look at it the nastier it looks, making the bile rise up in the pit of my stomach.
"You can do this Maddy lion." Spencer's gruff voice whispers to me.
I close my eyes and down the shot like it's a cool glass of water on a hot summer day. This shot in particular was Russian bear vodka, which meant I won the game!
"Rusian!" I scream out.
"It's official Spencer and Maddy win!" Luke yells out in voctory like he's the one who took the unknown shots.
Feeling quite accomplished with myself I quickly get up on my feet. I realise why the alcohol had no effect on me. Everything hit me like a bullet train in Tokyo. The room was shining, I was wondering why I was stupid enough to drink so much in such a short time frame, but somehow I manage to wonder back into the house where the music is so loud that I can't hear myself think which was a good thing.
I feel free and on top of the world. Miraculously, I find myself dancing. Wild and crazed dancing but still dancing which somber me would never do. The DJ is playing home music and everyone has a hand bobbing in the air and my head feels fuzzy but I don't care.
The thing about being drunk is that you seem to lose not only your senses but also track of time. It feels like forever for me to get on top of the coffee table and start dancing.
"Tu ne vis qu'une fois les salopes. " I scream out over the music. "Oh." I say. A laugh escapes my lips, and I get off the table and begin to dance my way out of the crowd, feeling slightly claustrophobic now. People are looking at me with odd expressions, and I can't blame them because I was dancing on top of the table screaming words in French.
I stop and take a moment to breathe. I don't feel so energetic anymore and the booze high seems to be wearing off, I think that's when it hits me that I'm alone. Alone, and slightly drunk. In that split second a flood of panic drowns my body. I instantly reach for my phone in my pockets but my skirt has none. I rush to the back porch only to find no one, not even my purse was there.
"Hey." I call out to a stranger passing by. "Have you seen either Luke, Kim or Ginger?"
The guy looks at me as though I'm some sort of crazy person and I can't blame him. My makeup is probably make down, my neat up do is now a messy bun and my eyes are blood shot from all the drinking I was doind. So yeah, I am a crazy person.
