The Change

Dongwook was gone when Rowoon woke up. He'd left a note for her on the counter so she'd find it when she wandered in for coffee. He was going to be gone all day so he gave her free reign of his home.

Grateful for the privacy, she made some coffee and went into his studio. She filtered through work emails, especially those that asked about the incident. Her head still throbbed and she could feel her vein pulsing ever time she thought about it.

All of this had to be connected. One person wasn't capable of all of this alone. Someone who had access to personal records and/or knew where to find them had helped her attacker get information. Then whoever had broken in had been the one to attack her both times. They were going to find two to three people involved.

She made a list of would-be culprits, listing every employee in order of rank. She had to include Jiho even though he wasn't the one. He was the CEO and the head man so all firing was up to him. But to make her list, she had to start at the top.

Her lists got so in depth, she lost herself briefly. She couldn't think of any people who despised her, but in the idol world, any one person could be behind it.

She was once again answering emails and text messages when the doorbell rang. Confused as to who would know where she was, Rowoon got up, refreshed her coffee, and went to answer it.

Hyuk stood on the other side, two bags in hand. She stepped back to let him in, curious as to what he had. He set the bags on the counter then started unpacking. He had the basic breakfast essentials, meaning they were all things she liked.

"Dongwook said you probably hadn't eaten so I brought brunch," he said.

Touched, she sat down and waited. "Did he tell you I'm allergic to onions?"

Hyuk nodded. "The ahjumma down the street said she knew of it and made some soup just for you."

Smiling, Rowoon dipped into the broth as he finished plating the rest. She smiled happily, wriggling in her seat with excitement. Her guest smiled then served up rice and some other dishes.

They didn't say anything as they ate. Two people were content with each other for the first time in several days. Thrown together due to circumstances beyond their control, they had done the best they could. Rowoon was finally at a spot where she could be comfortable with him, and with that comfort came all her weird quirks and other things.

"Have you showered?" Hyuk asked.

Rowoon shook her head. "I can't get my stitches wet. I won't be able to leave without washing my hair, which I can't do alone."

"I'll help. Finish up and I'll meet you in the bathroom."

She looked at him, spoon dangling over her soup. "I hadn't planned on going anywhere."

"You still need new clothes. You can't wear ours all the time."

She looked down at herself. He was right. She was wearing one of Dongwook's over sized shirts and a pair of his shorts. The rest of her clothes were still at Hyuk's, and those were mainly sweats and sleep clothes. All her formal wear had been destroyed.

They finished brunch and cleaned up. After a lot of coaxing, Hyuk finally convinced Rowoon to let him wash her hair. He wrapped a towel around her forehead to keep the water off her face, then scrubbed her hair gently but forcefully to get the dirt and oil out.

Once he was done, he toweled dried her hair then blow dried it. He brushed it out then braided it. It was messy but clean. Rowoon changed clothes, Hyuk slapped a hat on her head, and then they were off.
