Writing down on my paper all the numbers that were written on the black board made me think about something important.

'Either I'm really stupid or math is really difficult.'

I was trying to convince myself that 'math is really difficult so don't worry', but when I saw all my classmates unterstanding the exercise, I realized that I'm really stupid.

And it seems like Mrs. Hemmings, my wonderful math teacher, noticed my 'wtf face'. She called me over but suddlenly the school bell rang loud. I quickly packed the books in my bag not wanting to talk with her, but she was already with her arms crossed staring at me with a 'You better stay' look. I let out a sigh and slowly walked to the teacher's table.

"Oh hey Michael, didn't see you there." She said smirking a little and raising the eyebrow.

"Yeah, I thought you wanted to ta-" I started saying but was brutally interruped by her son, Luke, entering in the room.

"Mom, I need money because I'm so hungry, I could barely die! Oh hey you." Luke said at the moment he realized I was in the room too. I rolled my eyes at him and started leaving.

"Michael stay. And Luke next time you enter in a room screaming like that, check before if I'm not busy. Here buy me a blueberry muffin please." Mrs. Hemmings said handing her son some money.

Soon as Luke left the room, Mrs. Hemmings stood up from her chair grabbing a paper and coming next to me.

"So Michael, see this? These are your grades, the year isn't over yet but you can clearly see how bad they are." She said showing me the paper with all my grades, the majority are under 50%, even PE. "And the other teachers and I are really worried about you." She continued sounding sad, but I only sighed.

"I-I just, I can't. I listen and write everything you and the other teachers say but I can't remember it later." I said closing my eyes nervously.

"That's why I had an idea, what about we found you a tutor? But not any tutor, someone from this school so they know what you are studying about. Is this okay for you?" She asked smiling.

"A tutor? I mean, yeah that's a great idea, do you have someone in mind?" I asked this time more nervous than before, and now hungry. It was lunch time after all.

"Umm... not yet, but I'll tell you soon! This is great, but I wanna see you try your best! Now go to lunch!" she said chuckling and grabbing her bag.

"Michael, one more thing!" Mrs. Hemmings exclaimed. "Why aren't you and Luke friends anymore?" she asked frowning.

"Ask him or Calum." I said simply rolling my eyes and finally exiting the classroom.

After sitting alone in lunch, I went to my two last classes, art and geography.

During art class, I do practically nothing but draw stick people. And geography is my nightmare, everything I know is North, South, East and West. Also, it seems like the time is against me, going really slowly.

Some hours later, I was finally free to go home. Since it was friday, people were cheering about parties or going to someone else's house. I sighed and rolled my eyes, I'll probably stay at home playing video games alone, again.

While I was walking through the school's gate, my eyes caught on two boys laughing loud, Calum and Luke. Luke noticed my gaze and smirked, but Calum sent me a sad and apologetic look. I rolled my eyes at them and continued walking now with my earphones in.

The walk home wasn't long, but it was kinda boring always looking at the same things and the same neighborhood. Thankfully, Green Day or All Time Low would distract me. Right now 'Long View' was playing so loud, and I couldn't help but smile and sing along.

Then I started thinking about the whole tutor thing again, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. What if it's some uptight nerd, or some pervert or even someone on drugs. But the only thing I could do was wait.

My favorite playlist was almost over when I saw my house down the street. I grabbed my keys from the bag and started playing with them in my hands.

When I was about to unlock the door, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I quickly turned around letting the keys drop to the floor.

"Fuck!" I yelled with my eyes closed while I threw my hands in the air and lowered my head.

"Hey, hey no panic and no swearing!" I heard someone say and giggle. I opened my eyes slowly and found a kind of familiar boy in front of me.

"Oh my God, I-I thought someone was, oh God, never do this again!" I snapped angrily to the boy.

"Ok ok sorry" he giggled again.

"What do you want anyways?" I asked pissed.

"Oh yeah, you dropped this in school and I yelled after you but you were apparently listening to some music and you didn't hear me." He said blushing a little and handing me my blink-182 bracelet. "So I followed you, and you have a nice taste in music by the way." He smiled.

"Oh, yeah, thanks." I said awkwardly and grabbed the bracelet. "Do we have any classes together, I mean, you aren't strange to me but I can't quite remember you."

"Ahn.. I don't know, I think no, but you probably saw me at lunch or something. I'm Ashton by the way." He said smiling.

"I'm Michael, and nic-" I was about to give Ashton some excuse and then go inside but was interrupted by him.

"MICHAEL? CLIFFORD? Are you in Mrs. Hemmings' math class?" He asked grinning widely.

"Uhm... actually yeah why?" I asked curiously.

"Well, so I introduced myself wrong. I'm Ashton, your new tutor!"
