Luck had been noticing that Watchog has been distracted a lot more recently, almost causing them to get their plans foiled. From not paying attention to battles to getting lost in thought during chase sequences. This has been concerning the grunt for quite a while.
This time the Plasma member had been sent on a mission to Lacunosa Town, to gain information about the whereabouts of the DNA Splicers, with some other grunts for back up. As she and her crew were going out onto the field, she stopped to send out her Pokémon.
She waited until the others were out of sight, looking to the groundhog with a stern look. "Watchog, I need you to stay on track. We can't be distracted, especially if we're on a mission like this, got it?" the Pokémon looked up to her and nodded quickly.
The two of them began to run back to formation with the other team members, seems like they haven't gotten a lead just yet. Luck told them to keep listening in as the Lookout Pokémon's little ears twitched. They called to their trainer to follow them.
They crept underneath the town's bridge, to hear a few of the residents speaking about the information they were looking for. However, it couldn't be too crystal clear, they merely spoke about rumors. The Pokémon looked a little disappointed but their trainer subtly reassured them that they were fine.
Within the distance they heard one of the residents of the town scream in fear. The grunt winced in annoyance as they ushered their partner to the noise. One of her allies had gotten knocked out by the town's policemen, who was defending a young woman.
The trainer quickly ran to his side, while the others began to cluster behind them. "Get him back to the ship, I'll handle this." she stepped in front of the officer and without another word the group began to carry the fainted grunt back to their base.
The Watchog immediately began to shine their bright light to intimidate and scare off the human but unfortunately it didn't work. The opponent quickly tossed out a Riolu, who without another word used Force Palm.
Without enough time to react, the Lookout Pokémon was pushed back to their trainer, they struggled and twitched in pain. They started to sharpen their fangs but as it tried to lunge, it couldn't, they were paralyzed.
"Watchog, push past it, Hyper Fang!" the groundhog struggled to move as they began to slowly make its way to its target. With enough leg strength, they launched themselves to the Riolu, biting it harshly on their arm.
With a kick to the stomach, Luck's Pokémon was once again pushed back to her. The Fighting type quickly got back onto their feet and was about to strike the final blow.
"Snivy, Leaf Tornado!" the snake was quickly sent out to counter the attack, pushing the sturdy Pokémon back. The grass type made a gesture to the Watchog to go behind them. Accepting the offer, they shuffled behind their trainer.
"Vine Whip!" the grunt called out as the Snivy sprinted over to the Riolu. However despite the command, they instead spun forward with their tail glowing a bright green. Using the newly learned Leaf Blade, the opponent was slashed across the concrete.
In the midst of the attack however, they quickly started to glow brightly as they changed form. Its body becoming longer and slimmer, as well growing in speed and strength. The Snivy had evolved into Servine.
Once the evolution was finished, the damage was boosted, immediately launching the Emanation Pokémon back to the officer. While the policeman was distracted by their fainted partner, Luck quickly returned both of her Pokémon and went out of the town's sight.
