Chapter 2: Polly's Birthday Party

I woke up early that morning, so I would have time to get ready. I took a shower, blow-dried my hair and got dressed. I don't like makeup, so I didn't put any on. I told my Mom I was going to Polly's birthday party and left. I walked outside on a bright sunny day to my Mom's car. I just learned how to drive two months ago so I drove myself to where her birthday party was at Pizza 2000. I got to Pizza 2000 and walked in.

I took long paces so I could quickly get to the party room in the back of the shop. The first person I saw when I walked in was Polly herself. Polly is more like my sister than a friend. I gave her a big hug.

"Write your name where ever you want to sit," Polly said then she took my present. Polly's seat was at the second table on the left. I wrote my name next to her place. Then I saw my other friend Willow who is always the first one to everything. The party room was decorated in blue and white stars, balloons and streamers. I watched as one by one Polly's party guests arrived. Most of Polly's birthday guests had arrived by now. The last person to arrive was a boy and that's when the fun started. Polly turned on the music and we all started dancing.

"Could you sit with the boys?" Polly's Mom asked. To be nice I said yes. I sat down at the third table across from one of the boys. I think his name is John. In a flash, John got up and started hitting people with a blue balloon. When he hit me I was mad at him so I also found a blue balloon and hit him with it. John hit me again. I hit him back. After that, we started hitting each other with balloons. I found beads that were sitting on one of the tables and hit John with them. John never hit me back after that. He was terrified of me. After the party was over I helped Polly clean up then I went home. This was one of the best birthday parties ever.
