Peyton's POV
It was almost 6 o'clock, which meant it was almost time to go home. I wasn't that excited because my so-called friends decided to ditch me tonight. Just another boring night staying home alone, probably wasting my night on the internet until I got bored and then would have to find a new activity to keep myself occupied.
But before we continue on with this story, I feel I should introduce myself. My name is Peyton Rodgers, but most of the time I go by Pey. I turned nineteen a little under a month ago. I am about 5 foot 3 inches and I am from a small town in Connecticut, USA. I have dirty blond, kind of gold, curly/wavy hair with one purple strand under my right ear. My hair comes to just under my scapula and I have hazel eyes. I wouldn’t say I’m ugly, but I am in no way pretty. I’m just average looking. I work at a local market. We sell fresh meat, deli meat, sandwiches, milk. Kind of like a corner grocery store, if you will. I was just a cashier though.
I was counting the change in the draw when I heard the door open. I heavily sighed and rolled my eyes. When I look up, I see five boys with hoodies and sunglasses on. I could not understand their outfits at all. It was summertime and hoodies should only be worn on chilly nights when you were cuddled around a fire or something. I guess the sunglasses would be acceptable, but it was cloudy out and no need for them today. It didn't rain, but there were just clouds lingering in the sky all day.
I smiled at them as they entered, being polite, even though I wanted to kill them because it was 5:55. They walked over to the deli and it sounded like they ordered sandwiches. Because we were a local market, things were a little more laid back. My boss left early for the day because she needed it. She works seven days a week, 7-7 through the normal work week, and 7-5 on Saturdays, and 8-2 on Sunday's. It was tough for her because her husband had multiple strokes and could no longer work. It was sad because his dream was to always own this market and now it was slowly being taken from him. So, the boss's daughter's boyfriend was left to close the shop up.
But I have a little problem with him. His name was Brian, twenty nine years old, and was constantly flirting with me. It creeped me out. He tried to kiss me and kept trying to touch my ass every time he could. The boss knew about what occurred and talked to him multiple times, but he nevert listened. I tried to ignore him, but it was difficult to when he is so much taller than me. He lifted me over his shoulder to drag me around the store.
I had just finished counting the change in the drawer when Brian came up and tried to pull me away from the register so we could "make out". I tried and grab on the corner of the wall with one hand, while he was tugging at my other arm. He pulled me away and started dragging me to the bathroom.
"Brian, we have costumers, I can't just leave. And how many times do I have to tell you that I don't want to be with you?" I said, annoyed with him, but he just ignored me and continued to drag me.
Suddenly I felt someone tug at my other arm to pull me away and I was freed from Brian's grasp. He turned to look as to why I was released from his grip and I turned around to see who had my other arm. It was one of those boys.
"It doesn't look like she wants to go with you buddy." The mystery guy said, his voice sounding familiar.
He had a British accent and it was deep, but also had a higher pitch to it. His friends were behind him, ready to back him up if he needed it.
