   Y/N'S POV

Zora picked up Ella, and Ella reached for me saying,"I want to stay with mommy."

I glanced over at Justin, before I looked over at Ella saying,"You better go get something to eat with your Auntie Zora. I have to talk to Justin."

Ella pouted, but Zora took her out of the room. I looked back at Justin and noticed he was still standing. There were two chairs he could have sat in, but he was choosing to stand.

I said,"Justin, just sit down. You can sit down."

"Y/N, I can't sit down. Not after what you just did. That hurts, Y/N. It hurts."

  I looked down saying,"Justin, I'm sorry."

"Are you sorry? Are you really sorry? You were going to get me to leave, so I wouldn't have to stay in here long enough to remember everything. Was I a waste of time to you back then, Y/N?"

I reached to take Justin's hand, but he backed away as I said,"Okay. I was trying to get you to leave, but not because of what you may be thinking right now. I...I don't know how to say it out loud."

Justin asked me,"Why don't you know how to say it?"

I admitted to him,"Because I've never said it out loud, and I don't want you to misinterpret what I tell you."

"Does she know that I'm her father?"

  "No."

"I figured, because when she called, she kept saying her father was hurting you. You weren't going to tell me that either, were you?"

I realized just how much of a mistake it was backing away from Justin six years ago, and I would have rewritten my mistake if I could have.

  I just said,"No, I wasn't. I didn't think I'd have to tell you."

"Why wouldn't you have to tell me, Y/N? I'm her father, not that man who puts his hands on you all the time."

I sighed as I said,"Justin, I was sure you would've been out of here at this point. I'm surprised you're still standing here, but what would you have been able to do with me back then?"

Justin yelled,"I could've done something! I could've taken care of you, both of you! If you would've just given me a chance, I could've been your support!"

I argued,"Justin, no you wouldn't have. It was 2014. You had enough stuff going on, and I did too! We were both trying to figure stuff out, and I was scared! I was 19 years old with a baby in my stomach, trying so hard not to break. And I just, I thought it was best to get away and then that was when Michael came into the picture. I didn't mean for so much time to go by without me reaching out to you. Justin, I really didn't want to abandon you, but I thought I had made the right choice."

Justin had tears in his eyes as he said,"I understand your position at the time, Y/N, but you kept a daughter from me. My daughter. If you would've talked to me, I would've listened. And yes, I had a lot of bad times then, but you were one of the few good people I could count on. I just knew I'd be able to talk to you, but you just disappeared. I would've done anything to make sure you were okay, even if I had known about the baby. I would have kept in touch with you. I would have loved you, but I should go."

  "Justin, don't go."

Zora walked back in, and Justin sniffed saying,"I have to go."

Zora put Ella in my arms, and Ella leaned on me as I looked at Justin saying,"Jay, please stay."

  He said,"I can't. I'm sorry."

Justin looked at Ella, before he walked out of the room.

Zora closed the door behind him and said,"Did you mess this opportunity up?"

I remained quiet, and I held Ella tighter.

Zora rushed over to me as she said,"Hey, hey, don't. Don't do it."

I broke down anyway and said,"I'm an idiot, Zora. Now, Justin's gone, and I deserve it."

  ....

After I was released from the hospital, I kept Zora from coming home with Ella and me. It took everything out of me to get her to not come along, but I wanted her away for a reason.

I tucked Ella in, and she said,"Mommy, you're crying."

"Because mommy made a stupid choice years ago, and now daddy won't be around."

  Ella said,"But daddy hurt you."

I shook my head saying,"No, I hurt him at the worst time possible, and your daddy was the one you called."

Ella hugged me and said,"I'm here, mommy."

"I know. You can't leave me."

  "Okay."
