Chapter 20: Search and Exterminate

Azure's P.O.V.

I could almost literally feel the disappointment in RWBY.

Weiss: "Professor Oobleck?"

Oobleck: "Yes I'm afraid those bags won't be necessary boys and girls. Seeing as you've opted to shadow a huntsman on what is now essentially a reconnaissance mission. I can assure you we will not be establishing a single base of operations. Rather we will be traversing several miles of hazardous wasteland, and making camp in any defendable locations we may stumble upon. I've packed all our essentials myself provided the air course and readied the airship. And! It's Doctor Oobleck. I didn't earn a Ph.D. for fun thank you very much."

Weiss: "Uhh..."

Azure: "...Did you get all that?"

Cammy: "...No."

Oobleck: "Come now, children. According to my schedule, we are already 3 minutes behind, schedule."

He dashed off with incredible speed with Sam eagerly following him.

Azure: "Man, I can't tell where he gets all that speed from."

Ruby: "Well, alright, then! Looks like we're going to save the world with, Dr. Oobleck... okay, yeah when you say it out loud it sounds worse."

They looked down.

Azure: "Silver lining, at least we're not with Glynda. God knows if she would even take her eyes off us for a second."

Ruby: "Yeah... I guess..."

Apparently, JNPR was also nearby and heard our conversation.

Nora: "Save the world?! You're going on world-saving missions without us?! I'm hurt and sad! Maybe a little hungry! That last one's not my fault, though, Ren!"

Ren looked away from Nora.

Jaune: "Sounds exciting, where are ya going?"

Ruby: "Oh, just outside the kingdom."

Nora: "Hey, so are we!"

Pyrrha: "Ren and Nora wanted to shadow the sheriff of a nearby village."

Ren: "We set out tomorrow."

Suddenly, Sun and Neptune crashed the conversation.

Neptune: "Then you can party with us tonight! We're shadowing a crime specialist. All inner-city detective stuff. We get junior badges."

Jaune seemed awestruck at the idea.

Jaune: "Ooooohhhhh..."

Azure: "You two? Detectives? I feel sorry for the city already..."

Sun: "Hey! Give us a break! We normally go to the city with you guys, which means stuff's always exploding and junk. So, we thought this might be a better way to check out the kingdom when it's, you know, normal."

Azure: "Bold of you to assume that staying away from us would allow you to experience 'normal'."

Neptune: "Wait, what do you mean by that?"

Azure: "You'll see."

Oobleck called out to us.

Oobleck: "Four minutes ladies and gentlemen!"

Azure: "Oh, would you look at that? Looks like we are out of time. We'll continue this conversation never. Good luck with the whole 'nothing exploding' thing! Oh, and spoiler warning... you better prepare yourselves for a lot of explosions."
