Rain *

36 4 3

Call me Xue He, or any other name

Just so long you know that our enemies are one and the same

Raise an umbrella beside me, and shout our refrain

Raise an umbrella beside me, to block out the rain

'Cause we're young and we're students and we fight for our fate

Which has been darkened by officials of late

Tell me you do not want freedom and voice

Tell me you do not want freedom and choice

They sat in a circle of tuxedos on chairs

Then they talked and they talked of current affairs

And they looked at our home: in the darkness it's light

And they looked at our home: that's why we fight

Yes, the rain makes us colder and more willing to yield

But it's too late to run from this street battlefield

If you join, no matter what, would you stand by me?

If you join, no matter what, would you fight to be free?

This our last stand, before the fire's snuffed out

Those wannabe dictators give us nausea bouts

But they could give us much more, if they break our defence

But they could give us much more, like a prison sentence

They push upon us as we try to pass

With their numbers and masks and their dreaded tear gas

Yet we will not yield, scream it with me

Yes, we will not yield, until we walk free

Call me Xue He, or any other name

Just so long you know that our enemies are one and the same

Raise an umbrella beside me, and shield us from the rain

Raise an umbrella beside me, or we will all fall in vain
