Many days passed without talking to Park Chaewon and all I want to do is apologise but I don't know how. It was a Saturday afternoon and today was the day when Chae and I would hangout and go on our own adventures as friends ugh how I hated that word. I walked into a café that I found the other day and to my surprise the barista behind the bar was a familiar face.

"Haseul?"

"Ah it's the smoker!"

I rolled my eyes
"I'm not a smoker"

"I'm pretty sure a few days ago you had a cigarette in your hand?"

"Well I don't do it frequently therefore I'm not a smoker"
I took a stool out and sat down in front of her

"So. What can I get you? Beer? Whisky? Vodka?"

"Your kidding right?" I looked at her in disbelief "I'm underage"

"I thought you looked older"

"I was clearly wearing a school uniform the last time I met you"

"Ah right you were" she laughed

"I would like some black coffee"

"Coming right up" she smiled enthusiastically

She moved to the machine doing her thing making my coffee and I just looked around the small place and it had such a nice homily feel to it. The customers were chatting away, it wasn't too busy, the light jazz music playing in the background was soothing, the aroma of coffee was quite strong and it was nice.

"Do you own this place?" I asked

"Yup. Above this place is my house" she pointed above her

"I'm guessing you live with Miss Wong?"

She placed down the coffee in front of me

"Good guess. I do" she chuckled

"Ah must be nice"

"So how's everything with your crush?" She leaned in to me

"Terrible. I got mad at her long story short"

"Why is that?"

"It's because I'm just a simp and couldn't tell her that I liked her"

"Oh fair enough" she laughed "what are you gonna do now?"

"Well I obviously need to say sorry to her because not talking to her for days has been horrible but I don't know if I should tell her about my feelings"

"What I suggest you do is that you tell her you like her and explain why you do but if she reacts differently then tell her can this not change the way we are as friends?"

"What if she does change?"

"Well then she's not a good friend!"

"This is too much for me I need to smoke"

"I'll join you hold up. Yeojin!" She shouted and a little girl came out from the back "Yes?"

"I'm gonna take a break for a few minutes so can you cover me?"

"Sure" she smiled

We walked out to the front and I got out my packet.
"Do you want one?" I asked

"Nope I'm good" she put down my offer

"Okay then" I lit the cigarette and inhaled feeling the fumes go into me. When I exhaled I felt content and calm

"How do you feel?" She asked

"Less shit but still. Shit"

"That's good I guess"
