chapter three

"So shinra ,first of do you have any questions?"

"Uh yes actually it's for lieutenant Jigoku"he responds shyly

"What's up kid?"her interest peaking at her name
"How old are you and can you explain your power?"

She laughs lightly before going to sit on a table on the side of the room.

"Well I'm 29,so I am older then everyone except Captain over here.As for my power like I said I'm a 2nd and 3rd generation,so I manipulate fire from anyone changing its shape however I can also create my own flame as you saw at the subway it leaves my body from everywhere but I can also channel it to just one part if I want"she explains while lighting a simple flame in her hand

"That's so cool!!alright I have one more question"
"Are the lieutenants dating?"shinra asks more towards captain obi
"Oh god no,kid hes like my brother"jigoku explains
"Shes right we grew up together and are very protective over eachother" lieutenant hinawa speaks for the first time.

"Yea shinra these two have history far back,although they might not seem like it they are basically brother and sister and would kill anyone who harms the other"Obi says while getting up
"Because of these two lieutenants, the 8th ward runs so smoothly when I'm called to a meeting they handle things,like jigoku already said her official rank is co-captain but mainly goes by 1st lieutenant and hinawa isn't far behind ."He finishes his statement standing in between the two looking at shinra
"Its late ,any further questions can be asked later. Tomorrow we should be getting another recruit,shinra you're dismissed"

"Yes sir"he replies while saluting and then walking out

"Wow!I think we got someone who's powerful here I can see the his aura obi and it's quite morbid"jigoku says while playing with her hair

"Jigoku stop looking at people's aura,its creepy"hinawa states
"I cant help it my eyes just turn on when they want"she explains while showing her glowing eyes.

"Okay you two,its late,hinawa go to bed jigoku I need to speak with you"

With that hinawa walks out shutting the door softly

"What's up obi?"
"Tomorrow the new recruit,have you read his profile?"

"Of course I did, he seems decent but I'll be able to tell in person "
Captain obi simply nods

"Have you been able to sleep?"
She just sighs while looking down
"I tried but I just cant last night i got an hour of sleep ,that's probably all I'll get this month"

"Have you tried the medicine the 6th ward gave you"
"Yeah..they don't help,they just keep my eyes turned on longer"she says while looking up smiling"well ima go obi,get some sleep captain you need it"
He laughs
"I could say the same to you"
She responds with a laugh and heads out the her room not before catching lieutenant by her room
"Still not sleeping jigoku?"

"You too hinawa,obi just asked me that"she walks up to him
"How many hours in the past 2 weeks?"

"Mhmm about 3,but I'm fine"she tries to turn her door handle but is cut off by him grabbing her wrist
"You're clearly not jigoku,have you even tried too sleep?!"

The simple question he asked made her upset
"Are you serious?!You know better than anyone I try,I want to sleep but these god damn eyes wont let me,my  damn power won't let me!"she slightly raises her voice while looking at him with her eyes glowing.

"I'm trying hinawa okay it's hard for me.i cant sleep anymore and the hours drop every time"she says before the tears come out.
He can only pull her into a hug to comfort her
"I-im sorry okay ,I'm just worried for you"

She pulls away slightly,wiping her tears "I know and dont worry I'll try to figure out how "
He nods before turning too leave
"Night jigoku"
"Night hinawa "

But they didnt know that shinra was around the corner listening to the conversation on accident.
