"Oli!" I called as I rushed into the school's library.

"Miss Jenkins!", Ms. Johnson suddenly shouted, stopping me in my tracks, "Please be quiet. There are other students in here you know."

"Right, sorry Ms. Johnson" I replied, not really feeling sorry, but also not feeling like getting more detention for arguing with a teacher.

I started heading towards the back of the Library where my partner in crime, Oliver, always sits. Oliver and I have been best friends since 3rd grade up until now, all the way in 10th. Technically he should be in 11th grade but he wanted to wait for me so we could go in together and graduate together. I love my best friend but Oli is a bit of a basket case. And I mean that in the least offensive way. He's always just been worried and anxious over small things, which has ended up causing him frequent panic attacks and a mild case of paranoia. His paranoia is mostly under control but panic attacks are still something he unfortunately suffers from. I'm always here to help him though if he does have a panic attack or is nervous about something, and I'll always be there to help him. It's also why I'm slightly nervous to tell him what I found.

I should actually probably explain a few things before I continue because I don't believe we've properly met. Hi, my name is Jade Jenkins, but you can just call me Jay. I am 15 and a sophomore at West Brooke High. I have short, curly, strawberry blonde hair and am very short, but I will fight you. Oh, I should also probably mention that I'm a time traveler. Yeah, apparently my great uncle used to be an engineer for NASA, retired, got bored, and started working on this theory for time travel. Our entire family thought he was crazy but when Oli and I were poking around in his old shop last summer, we accidently activated some sort of chamber so we did what any normal teenager would do and went inside of it. We then ended up in 1910's Great Britain, so we had a bit of a scare but we were fine. Now we use the EEM, which stand for Emergency Essay Machine, for our history and economics papers, adventure, and sometimes we like to go back and tag random things on the bridges in our town when they were built.

Yeah, yeah, I know its not the most responsible or practical way to use it but, what do you really expect when a 15 and 16-year-old come into possession of a time machine. I mean seriously, if you had a time machine, would you use it "responsibly"?... That's what I thought.

Now that all the introductions and explanations are out of the way, I can tell you why I got a spook in my history class today. We were reading about The French Revolution and I swear that in one of the pictures I saw someone wearing an Adidas hoodie. Now I know that it sounds absurd but, so is two time-traveling teenagers. Maybe now you see why I'm worried about how Oli's going to react.

I spotted Oli sitting in a bean bag chair reading some kind of fantasy book. "Hey Oli, whatcha reading?"

A/N

Ok here it is!

My first book yay!

I'm sorry this is short but it is the prologue so I didn't want it to be too long.

I just wrote 1370 words on my Word program in one go which is new for me, I usually get distracted, and I am SO EXCITED for this story. I really hope I can make it seem as good as what is in my head and I hope you all like it. I'm really happy with how the prologue and first chapter have turned out.

Anyways thank you for starting this book with me and I love you all

Have a wonderful day<3
