⚠️tw: hinted abuse⚠️

I heard a glass shatter on the wall in the apartment above mine.

The glass collided with the wall, barely missing the brunette as she sobbed and pleaded for the man to stop. They'd been fighting for at least a couple minutes and made a huge ruckus, but no one bothered to check it out.

At first I thought that I was dreaming.

The girl in the apartment below theirs was listening to the arguement. She sat up as she heard a glass break, but shook it off, as that didn't seem reasonable. Especially at this hour.

Then I heard the voice of a girl and it sounded like she'd been crying. Now I'm too worried to be sleeping.

"I hate you! I hate you so much!" The brunette yelled at the man in front of her, her voice raspy. The girl in the apartment on the first floor shot up. 'That's not usual in these apartments..' the green streaked brunette thought.

So I took the elevator to the second floor. Walked down the hall and then I knocked upon her door. She opened up, and I asked about the things I've been hearing.

The girl had put on her hoodie and shoes, grabbing the keys to the apartment and heading out, going to the second floor to investigate and or interrogate on what's happening.

She had lightly knocked on the door of the apartment above hers, waiting for an answer. Someone slightly taller and very pale and thin answered the door. The green streaked brunette smiled up at the pale girl.

"Y-Yes?" "Um. What's all that ruckus going on? Is everything alright?"

She said, 'I think your ears are playing tricks on you.' Sweater zipped up to her chin. 'Thanks for caring, sir, that's nice of you but I have to go back in. Wish I could tell you 'bout the noise, but I didn't hear a thing.' She said, 'It must've been the wind, must've been the wind. Must've been the wind, it must've been the wind.' She said 'It must've been the wind, must've been the wind. Must've been the wind, it must've been the wind.'

The brunette paled. She tugged at the sweater that was zipped up, covering just about everything on and near her chest, including her neck, arms, and parts of her hands.

"U-Um. Thanks for being concerned, b-but everything's quite alright, ms. I didn't hear a noise at all." She chuckled nervously.

"Oh. Alright. Also, I didn't quite catch your name.." "I didn't throw it," the taller one remarked. The green streaked brunette chuckled a bit.

"It's Aviva."

"Astoria"

Both girls smiled.

"So, are you sure there wasn't any noise?"

Aviva fidgeted with the sleeve of her sweater.

"I-I'm sure. Wish I could tell you about it, but I didn't hear anything. It must have been the wind." She chuckled nervously, again.

Astoria pursed her lips but nodded waving goodbye to Aviva, to which the latter did the same and closed the door.
