Cody stared at Jamie intently knowing he wouldn't notice, he was absorbed into the cinematic world of Interstellar.  Cody laughed quietly to himself as Jamie gasped suddenly, something must have jumped out in the movie however Cody wouldn't know as he was focused on the way Jamie's light brown hair looked in the pale light of the TV. They were just sitting there watching movie after movie after movie, since their original plans had been cancelled. They didn't mind everyone in the group knew that they were the best friend duo, as they had been since first grade.

"Wow, I cannot believe that just ended that way. The director did such an amazing job with it." Jamie suddenly whispered.

"Oh, yeah I love it, it's a great movie, see I told you, you would like it." Cody responded quietly.

The two boys bantered for a little bit talking about space movies and which ones were better occasionally making jabs at each other. Cody paid attention to Jamie's mouth as he talked, he couldn't help but wonder what his lips would feel like against his own. The blonde boy made a joke about how space movies were lame and the two continued on laughing. This was how they spent most weekends, hanging out and talking for hours until one of them fell asleep.

At 3 am Jamie had fallen asleep, he was snoring gently in a way that sounded like a low hum Cody smiled at how endearing he was. The way his wavy brown hair had settled on and around his face looked like a frame. Cody decided a face like that deserved to be framed as he fell asleep next to his best friend.

He fell asleep wondering what it would be like if he just told Jamie how he felt. His dreams were filled with cliche dates to the movies and late night drives that ended in slightly unholy ways. Cody's head was so fuzzy with infatuation it had leaked into his dreams, putting ideas and expectations into his head that he wasn't sure would ever happen. He would just have to wish.

Jamie jumped on Cody to wake him up the next morning, the blonde boy wheezed as Jamie's stomach landed on his torso. They looked like an award cross as Jamie was much taller than Cody, the idea of it made Cody laugh lightly.

"Get off of me, you're a total dick." he said through laughing.

"Oh sure, whatever." Jamie rolled his eyes and stood up to stretch.

"You've been waking me up like that for nearly 10 years now you can't get anymore creative? One of these days you're going to break one of my ribs y'know?"

"Oh my god you're so dramatic sorry cupcake didn't realize you were so fragile." Jamie joked as he went through his closet.

Cody scoffed and got out of the bed to punch Jamie in the arm before snatching his hoodie off of the chair in Jamie's room and throwing it over his head. He shook his head aggressively, his blonde hair flopping around. Jamie put on a sweater, it was light blue with a dark blue trim. Cody adored that sweater.

"Alright, let's go! We might not have school today but we do have practice so grab your bag dumb ass." Jamie said on the way out of his room.'

Cody mockingly glared at him but grabbed his bag and followed Jamie to his Mustang. Oh the day dreams he had about that car. Cody and Jamie collectively didn't want to go to football practice that particular day, it was freezing cold. Their school had an elite football team with a reputation so football practice was year round with a small one month break during spring which meant practicing in the cold, icy snow. It was only November but in Denver Colorado, this was the norm. They parked and raced to the locker room, Jamie won. Upon entering the disgusting room they were greeted by their teammates with friendly slaps on the back, they quickly changed as their coach was never one to be patient with them. Cody tried not to think about his best friend's toned build as they walked onto the field together, luckily the cold always made his pale skin red anyways so his blush was well disguised.

"Today, is a no equip day as I'm sure you know, you're all going to run 2 miles and stay together, if anyone gets left behind or goes ahead I will add an extra lap for everyone. Do you understand?" The coach shouted at them.

"Yes, sir!" the team chorused.

And with that the group of boys began running their two miles, it wouldn't be too hard they did it all of the time but it was just so cold. Even Jamie's tan skin had began to redden along his cheeks and nose. The sky was overcast implying it would snow later, the wind was harsh and icy making it seem so much colder out than it was, everything was slightly gray. When you grow up with snow your entire life it loses the magic it once held and seems more bothersome than anything. Of course Cody knew Jamie loved the snow so he never said anything but it was always on his mind what a nuisance it was. The blonde snapped out of his head to listen to Jamie talking quietly about waffles for some unknown reason, and felt a smile make its way to his face.

By the end of the two miles most of the group had slowed down, reluctantly Cody did as well and was barely aware of the stinging pain in his lungs as he talked to Jamie. It was a good distraction he would admit, but he couldn't help but feel bad about the thought of Jamie never knowing how he felt. He knew so much about Jamie it could be considered unhealthy if they hadn't been friends for so long- like the fact that Jamie thought the Earth was actually flat for a year because his dad convinced him and that when he laughs he squints and throws his head back ever so slightly, typically more to the left.

It wasn't creepy, Cody was just observant. No such thing as too observant Cody thought as the group did cool down stretches.
