NOVEMBER FURROWED HER eyebrows as she looked over Adam's shoulder that morning for breakfast. They had just played Canada two days prior and It had been five days since she had gotten scouted- although, she hadn't told anyone except her mother and her brother. They said it was amazing and a great opportunity but November thought otherwise.

"What the-" Nova whispered as she read the paper Adam was holding, he looked over at her in worry before calming down to seeing her eying the news. "Russia beat Iceland? We're tied with them?!"

Adam nodded and folded up the newspaper, throwing it into the table to fully face his best friend. "Yeah... if we make it to finals, we're probably going to have to play them unless they get beat-"

"Which I highly doubt.." Nova finished for him. Adam nodded along as Nova's eyes trailed down to his arm that was in a sling because of his wrist.

"How is it?" She asked in a sincere concerned tone

Adam shrugged and held a saddened expression. "Sucks- I mean I'm fine but not being able to play sucks..."

"I know," Nova sighed, "it's not the same playing without you. You know, super duo doesn't work if there's just one of us"

November's words then repeated in her head. Super duo doesn't work if there's just one of us. All she could think of what would happen if she left. She would never be able to play with Adam again and she may never be able to again because of his wrist. At that moment, she thought leaving was a bad idea but then echoes went through her head about how it had been her dream since she was six. She just didn't know what to do.

Nova had plenty reasons to stay and she had to confront them all before she finally had to decide what she was going to do. She had to talk to them. She had to talk to Connie, Charlie, Guy, Averman, and Adam. Needless to say, their opinions mattered most.

November was stuck in her thoughts before she snapped her attention to where Charlie bursted in with an exhausted but excited expression, breathing rapidly as if he had just gone for a run.

"Charlie-"

"Nova, Bombay wants to talk to you.." Charlie huffed out before turning to the entire team, "I got us a new player to fill Adam's roster spot. Russ Tyler"

November saw Adam give a slight frown at the corner of her eye before nudging him lightly. She offered a small smile as she nodded to the door. "So I have to apparently talk to Bombay... you wanna accompany me and wait till I'm done and we can go out and get milkshakes or something?"

Adam gave a soft smile and nod before Nova grabbed his hand and slightly dragged him out the door.

They walked hand in hand to Bombay's office but November didn't care. In fact, she didn't even realise that she was holding his hand. However, Adam did and saying his heart was racing at 100mph was an understatement.

"I'll be right back" Nova said before she made her way into Bombays office.

She knocked on he door as it was wide open to see him smile and usher her in.

"Charlie said you wanted to speak to me?" Nova asked in small voice. She took her seat in front of Bombay's desk as he sat there contently.

"Hey Nova.. I'm sorry.." he said in an instant, "for everything... I hurt you more than anyone else on the team and you didn't deserve that. I was just frustrated and I took it out on you. My words meant nothing- they weren't true. You are an incredibly strong girl and yes, you did impact that game very positively but I just couldn't see it over the loss... I hope you can forgive me"

November didn't say anything at first but that was just because she wanted to feel the relief and trust she had for Bombay soak in again. She cracked him a smile and nod. "Of course coach... thank you for the apology"

Bombay gave her another smile and nod but frowned slightly when she saw her look down at her hands in thought. He furrowed his eyebrows and looked at her solemnly before leaning forward in curiousness.

"Hey.. are you alright?"

Nova looked at him and swallowed the lump in her throat before glancing over to the window to see Adam sitting on one of the chairs on the far wall reading a magazine- out of earshot from the office.

"Coach.. can I tell you something... it has to stay between us.."

Bombay smiled nodded as he couldn't help but hope it was what he wanted to hear saying as she had glanced to see if Adam could hear them.

Nova took a deep breath in before speaking quietly. "I got scouted for a school in England for soccer the day you and Adam went to get his wrist checked. They offered my friend Danielle and I full scholarships... I- I don't know what to do, coach"

Bombay's eyes widened in shock. That was definitely not what he expected to hear. "Wow.." he breathed out, "tha-thats incredible"

Nova bit her lip and shook her head with a sad expression. "No it's not.."

Bombay gave her a look of sincere pity. "Well- who have you told?"

"Just my brother and my mother... they said they wanted me to go but- Its not easy.."

Bombay let out a long and sharp breath as he cracked his neck and leaned back on his chair. "I-I don't know what to tell you... but if you do decide to choose England... I'm proud of you.."

"W-what?" Nova stuttered out as she looked up at him with furrowed eyebrows

He pursed his lips together and nodded. "Nova... I've seen you grow up into this amazing girl who loves sports more than anything... this is your dream isn't it? It's not easy to choose your dreams over your friends but sometimes it's the right thing to do..."

November ran a hand through her hair and sighed. She knew where he was coming from and his words definitely sank into her future decision. "Thanks coach.." she said before standing up, "I still have a hard decision to make but... we have a game tomorrow and I can't let it trip me up... besides, I promised Adam we'd get milkshakes."

Bombay nodded and tried to hide his growing smirk as he waved until she made it out the door. He watched with a content smile through the window to see Nova go up to Adam and grab his hand to hoist him up from his seated position. He couldn't help but notice Adam's bright smile as he talked to her and walked off.

Bombay looked at them until they were out of his sight range- leaving him in peace and slight happiness for Adam Banks.

Nova, on the other hand, had her thoughts occupied as Adam walked beside her and talked about something Guy did the night prior.

Four years ago, November would have taken this opportunity in a heartbeat. Now, She didn't know what to do and the boy who talked happily beside her didn't make her decision any easier.
