For Indeed with hardship there will be ease.

Confined in the corner
He tried to get some sleep
But the gunshots rang through the night
Stealing away his peace.

Huddled in his mother's arm
He prayed for the nightmare to end,
Praying to Allah to grant him strength.

Among the 5 thousand bodies yesterday,
His dad was one
Among the 7 thousand today,
His brother was one.
And for the thousands tommorrow,
Who will it among them?

lub-DUB, lub-DUB, lub-DUB.
His heart echoed in his ear.
His sister's cry
Was the last thing he heard.
Boom.
Darkness.
Everywhere.

Voices.
Screaming.
Pleas for help.
He wondered how much more of it could he take?

His body ached.
His mind numb.
Oblivion.
Oh how welcome it was.

Head banging
Light flashing
He was alive?
Oh how more did he need to strive?
Why couldn't it just end.

But, what about his mother
His sister.
Who would look after them?

In this immoral world
They would be slaved
Before they died
They could be raped.

He needed to live
Make sure they were alright.
So he fought for life.
With all his might.
