The next two weeks, my Raphael became stronger and stronger. As I stared at him with wonder, his stunning silver gaze opened, curiously staring back at me for just a moment before squeezing them tightly shut again. I watched with pride every day as he became stronger and stronger, his little arms and legs wriggling about more and more. Eventually he was breathing all by himself, his little chest rising and falling all with his own effort. Five weeks after that, he was taken from his incubator and I held him to me for the very first time without any machines helping him as he took his first milk from my breast, gulping greedily. "I gave up," Diego murmured in shame as he watched our son feeding hungrily. "I gave up on him. How could I?""Don't blame yourself, Diego." I consoled, holding Raphael to me as the most ethereal feeling seeped into my very pores. I was holding my little warrior in my arms after so long of waiting and praying. "Your mother and the angel Raphael heard my broken prayers. Your mother blessed our son, I know she did! She's with us, looking over us. I know she is."Diego swallowed hard, unable to form words as our son stared up at us with wonder all of his own. I was so proud of my little angel. We sat together as a family as Diego held Raphael to his chest and I sat with my two boys on either side of me. Raphael was smaller than his brothers, but with every day he gained weight, becoming stronger and stronger. I breast fed all of my babies, thrilled to have them all in my arms with no barriers. It had been a long, tiring, emotional ride, but all of my boys had pulled through. When the time came, I lavished gifts on my team who helped my boys pull through. I couldn't thank them enough for what they had done for my babies, helping them through their critical days. Everyone of them had been dedicated to me throughout my pregnancy and labour. They had the lives of my babies in their hands. And all of my children were healthy. On the journey home, Diego had strapped our children into the car seats as I worried about the state of the nursery at home. I supposed we could cope until it was completed, having the cribs in our room. As we wound around the island, people began waving and shouting out well wishes to us all. On pulling up to the house, I found myself greeted by Martha, Eddie, Bobby and Nicolas as a banner pinned to the house read "Welcome Home" out with balloons tied all over the decking barriers all different shades of blues, white and silver. I stepped out of the car overwhelmed as they came to us, kissing my cheek and welcomed us home. Martha took Hunter out of his car seat while Eddie, Bobby and Nicolas fought over who was holding Ryker and Raphael. "Oh fine!" Bobby huffed, allowing Nicolas to take Raphael. "You look amazing, Alley! A real yummy mummy!"He came over and hugged me tightly, his happy infectious self. Since my labour, it had been a stressful time for everyone, worrying over my children. Even Nicolas was warm to me, almost genuinely. I think he still fought over blaming himself for the on start of my labour. "Come with me!" Bobby declared, taking my hand in his own. "We have a surprise for you all!"I was lead upstairs, Bobby covering my eyes over as we got to the top of the stairs. "No peeping!" He chided me as I heard a door open. "Ready?""Yes!" I laughed, unable to keep the smile off my face. He took his hands away and I opened my eyes to find myself standing in a nursery, fully decorated and completed. My eyes landed immediately on the crib. It was the crib that I desperately wanted and was unable to find. The silver crib lay underneath a large canopy, a stunning shade of baby blue. Baby blue bedding lay inside each crib, trimmed with grey and white, the theme colour I always wanted. Stitched on to each one was the name of each of my babies. "But..." I gasped, making my way slowly over to it as if weren't real. "I couldn't get it anywhere.""Thank Diego for it." Bobby enthused coming over to me. "He did all of the work in finding it. He even put it together himself!"My gaze locked on Diego's as he stood in the doorway smiling. My eyes roamed around the room. It was better than I could have ever imagined it. The walls were painted in a light grey, almost silver shade with lots of safari animal outlines in the same shade of blue as the canopy. My feet stood on a super soft baby blue carpet that you could just feel your toes squishing into. A changing table sat in one corner and a silver rocking chair in the other, facing the patio doors as the sun streamed in. A recent picture of Diego and myself holding our boys had been framed on the wall, a stencil of a monkey hanging off it. My three boys footprints and hand prints had been imprinted on clay and hung on the wall with their names on. Lots of blue and grey teddy bears sat in one corner of the room, completing the safari look. Everything we could possible need was there, ready to go. My eyes filled as I took in the dedication around me, everything so perfectly placed, beyond my imagination for the babies. Cameras had been installed in the nursery with sensors on that detected all noise. "I can't.." I blubbered, overwhelmed. "It's so beautiful!""I'm thrilled you like it!" Bobby gushed hugging me tightly. "It's the least we could do, honestly.""Thank you," I hugged every single one of them, unable to express just how much it meant to me. I just couldn't believe it.Martha had put a spread on for everyone to eat as we settled our triplets in. Diego convinced them to stay the night, Bobby declaring that he'd be on baby duty so that Diego and I could get a good nights sleep. I hadn't stepped foot outside of the hospital for what felt like an eternity, so being home felt so nice. I felt the last of my stress fall away from me as I enjoyed a lovely bath after inspecting the monitors that had been placed in the kitchen and our bedroom. It allowed the cameras to zoom on each of our babies in the crib, along with night vision and cameras showing the whole room. The whole house had been baby-proofed, every single inch of it. Our children would grow up in this house. Memories would be made and imprinted on every room. And what place could be more magnificent for my boys to grow up than Isle Lujo? After my bath, I crept up the stairs and gazed down at my boys sleeping peacefully in matching sleep suits. I just couldn't believe they were finally home together, sleeping in a stunning nursery and adored by many people. "Thank you, Grace." I whispered, realisation setting in as I gazed at my boys with wonder. If Diego hasn't wanted to bless his mother with her last wish, my children would never be here right now. If Diego hadn't put that bet on with his friends, I wouldn't have made that deal with him. It was weird how single decisions by myself and others could lead to a life like this. Now I wasn't bound by my family as I was. I had Martha and Eddie around me as though I were their own. I had Bobby and Nicolas, Nicolas determined to correct all those bad feelings he once had towards me, Bobby lighting my life up with his beautiful personality and open heart. I was blessed with my three boys, all full of health and happy, beautiful babies. And I had Diego, an alpha male who always thought about my own happiness. Yes, he might have made some mistakes - bad decisions. But hadn't we all at some point?Hadn't we sometimes been unable to hide our bad thoughts and feelings to others? Suddenly, none of that mattered to me anymore. I had been blessed with such love around me, and I was the happiest I had ever been. My only wish was that Grace had made it long enough to see her grandchildren. In my heart, I knew she was looking down on us, as she once promised to me in the hospital. And I knew she was completely right about Diego. He had his faults, but he was a good man. His heart was in the right place. I loved that man. Kissing my children on their tiny brows, I whispered good night to them and left the door open a little as I made my way to find Diego. I found him sitting in his office, lost in his own thoughts. "Diego." I breathed, gulping the sight of him in. "We need to talk."Diego's silver eyes that all of our son's inherited pierced their gaze on me. He let out a sigh and nodded, "Yes we do, Alley."We walked out on to the decking and I sat down, watching as Diego took his shoes and socks off and sitting on the edge of the decking, dipping his feet in the ocean. "Join me?" Diego held his hand out in offer and I accepted. As I sat beside him, I stared up at the moon hanging low over the water, casting a shimmer to the waves. Millions of stars littered the sky, lighting up the deep night sky above us. Palm tree's whispered in the wind as a light breeze danced around us. Diego encased his warm hands in my own and pressed a kiss to the tips of my fingers. "The deals off, Alley."Dumb-founded, I stared at him in shock as though as any moment he would laugh and say he was joking. I expected much more of a fight, prepared a speech and everything. Yet here I sat lost for words. "I cannot bare to see my son's parted from you." He whispered, holding my hand tightly. "I cannot bare being parted from you.""Neither can I," I replied softly, leaning my head against his shoulder. "We've had so much history, Diego. These past months, we've lived in that history. So many unanswered questions between us that we haven't been able to move forward from it. I never slept with Derek, Diego. Despite what you think or thought.""I know." Diego answered, those beautiful eyes looking up at the sky and exhaling deeply. "Nicolas told me. He told me about what he tried to do to you. Everything kind of just came at once. Suddenly, I understood why he spoke of you so often - the bastard was trying to make out if I knew what he tried to do. Instead, my jealousy lead me down a different path. I've made so many mistakes, Alley. How can I even ask you to forgive me?""You don't have to, Diego." I whispered, taking his face in my hands. "You're not the only one to make mistakes. Instead of facing our past, we let it infect us all the more. I was wrong to be so nasty to Breonia. But I was jealous, too. You make me feel so many emotions, Diego. Sometimes you bring the worst out in me, but, you also bring out the best in me too.""You were right about Breonia, Alley." He murmured softly, his gaze turning from the sky and landing on me. "The night I left, she came to my hotel room and tried it on with me. I refused her advances. You were right about her and I was blind to her advances. You've always been right, Alley. You're not afraid to tell me when I'm wrong. I've hurt you over and over again. But you've always been there for me. You saw me at my worst.""Do you think we can start over again, Diego?" I asked him honestly, looking up in his eyes as my head lay on his shoulder. "I think you were made for me, Alley." He whispered, laying his head against mine. "I've taken your fathers jewellery store as my own. I've put it in your name, along with anything left that I owned from your grandfather. It's all yours, Alley."I sat up and stared at him before saying, "My great grandfather started that company all by himself. I don't have a clue about businesses, Diego. I can't poss-""-You don't need to worry." He interrupted, guiding my head back to his shoulder with his meaty hand. "I will over look them all for you. But you'll make any final decision, with my guidance. I want you to stay with me forever. I want you to chase your dreams, Alley. I want to be by your side as you accomplish those dreams."With a smile, I shuffled over so that I was sitting on his lap facing him. "My dreams have already came true, Diego. I just didn't know they existed. They lie upstairs sleeping peacefully the living image of their father. And...I'm staring at my other dream."I watched as his sensuous mouth parted in shock before he fisted my hair in his hand and smashed my lips against his own, devouring my mouth. "I love you, Alley." He whispered against my lips as he declared his love for me. "I love you, too." I whispered shyly, looking up at him through my lashes. We began to laugh and kiss each other all over again. I felt no barriers between us. Suddenly I was enveloped in the strength of Diego's love, drowning in it. Playfully, he dipped forward, taking me with him as we landed into the ocean with a crash. I spluttered as I surfaced and playfully splashed him.He swam to me and held my hips in his hands as my arms locked around his neck. For a while we just held each other, basking in our glow as we bobbed in the water, my legs wrapping around his waist."I have a new deal for you." Diego murmured, pressing a kiss to my head. I giggled and stared up at him, "No more deals, Diego. Please!""I think you might like this one," He whispered back playfully rubbing his nose against my own, his voice so light and... happy. "Oh?" I raised my eyebrows, smiling back at him with curiosity."Marry me, Alley?" He declared, his voice full of love as his words seeped in. "What's the terms of this deal?" I teased, heart blooming as I pressed a kiss to his lips. "Make each other happy, every single day. Give me lots of babies!" He teased, pulling me to him tighter as he kissed my lips softly. "Be my Mrs. Mendez, Alley.""Yes," I whispered, kissing him back hard as he deepened my kiss. We burst into happy laughter and played in the ocean together, in our clothes as we delighted in one another. That night I made love to Diego. We moved as one together, basking in our glow. Diego placed his mothers engagement ring on my finger, a stunning yellow diamond ring encrusted in clear diamonds. I walked down the isle seven months later, just two days before my boy's first birthday, on a stunning tropical day on Isle Lujo's famed beach, just as the sun was beginning to set. All the palm tree's in the area had orange and white strings of lights wrapped around them as I walked under the canopy of clear lights above me, the guests all turning to get a glance at me. I wore an elegant ivory Chanel dress that weaved lace beautifully around the upper front. Around my waist, a belt separated the material that flowed down my body, cascading in the wind as the dress parted a little showcasing my long leg and golden heels.Eddie gave me a reassuring squeeze as I gripped the stunning array of tropical orange bouquet of flowers in my hand. Bobby and Martha walked in front of us, my three boys between them in their little tux, adoring the attention as people ooed and ahhed at them. Nicolas stood as Diego's best man, both men waiting down the isle, as Diego locked eyes with me. I could see the nerves behind them as he drank me in. And there, on Diego's other side, was Diego's permanent bodyguard, Karl. As we reached the bottom of the isle, Eddie gave me away to Diego, so proud as he wiped the tears from his eyes. "You look stunning." Diego swallowed as I took his warm, safe hand in my own. "You don't look so bad yourself." I teased, smiling up at him. My god, he was the most stunning man I ever laid eyes on. The ceremony was stunning as we exchanged our vows, ones that we wrote ourselves. Diego stared into my eyes as he held my hands, his hands shaking. "Alley, from the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you were special. I just didn't realise how special you were, and how much you would change my life. Every day you touch those around you with your kind heart, your generosity, and the ability to see the good in everyone, even when they don't think they're good. You're always there when someone needs to talk. You're my best friend, Alley. You've blessed me with three beautiful children, and opened my eyes and heart to what life really is. All my life, I've never called anywhere home. But when I'm with you, no matter where we are, I'm always home. I promise to love you, cherish you, protect you. I never want to see you cry, especially because of me. I promise to be the best husband, and the best father I can be. You are my world, Alley. You are my sun that warms me, and my moon that casts light, even in the most darkest of places. I love you, Alley."Tears ran down my face, "I'm crying already - happy tears, though, they're allowed! Diego, You make me feel strong, like I can brave the world. From the moment I met you, you showed me how to live, and love. You opened my eyes to the world that's out there. Diego, you always think about others and put them before your own needs. You've worked hard for all you have. Through your own determination, you put your stamp on the world. You gave me the most beautiful children, and guided me to wonderful people. You gave me a family, Diego. You banished all of the darkness around me. "Like all couples, we've had our ups and downs. But I could never change that. Those moments are what makes us stronger together. A wise man once told me that the secret to a happy marriage is never to go to bed angry with each other. So today, my love, I promise that no matter what challenges we face in life, I'll never go to bed angry with you. I vow that in hard times, I'll be by your side no matter what. I vow to love you for the rest of eternity. I swear that whenever you feel alone, I will always be behind you. You're my best friend, Diego. You helped me find myself, and set my own future. My heart is your heart. I vow that wherever you go, I will follow you."We exchanged rings and we're pronounced - finally- man and wife. I kissed Diego as the crowd around us roared and cheered. That night, we danced our first song as Mr and Mrs. Mendez, on the beach under a thousand stars with candles all around us. The Ed Sheeran sang Thinking out Loud behind us, with nothing but a guitar and a microphone. "So honey now... take me into your loving arms... kiss me under the light of a thousand stars... place your hand on my beating heart... I'm thinking out loud, that maybe we found love right where we are..." The lyrics sang as Diego and I gazed into each others eyes. "I think we did find love right where we are, Mr. Mendez." I murmured as he held me in his arms. "Very fitting, Mrs. Mendez," Diego whispered enticingly in my ear, "We're on a beach, with a thousand stars indeed above us. So my question to you, Mrs. Mendez, is are you going to kiss me, or keep running that pretty mouth of yours?"His lips devoured mine before I could reply. "I'm pregnant." I whispered to him, staring into his stunning silver eyes. Diego swooped me up in his arms and spun me around, "Really?""Yes!" I laughed, wrapping my arms around his neck. "Around six weeks to be exact.""I love you so much, Mrs. Mendez." Diego stroked back a stray lock of hair. "You make me the happiest man alive!""I love you too, Mr. Mendez." I laughed, as tears ran down both of our cheeks with happiness. "Forever."Others began joining into the song, couples dancing with their loved ones. "I'm so happy, Alley." Diego confided amongst the throng of people around us. "Me to-""I object!" A strong voice came from behind, causing us to swivel around and the music to stop. There, storming down to the beach, was my whole family. My father looked fit to burst. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" I cried, furious to see them, trying to ruin the second happiest day of my life. "No way is my daughter going to marry this... this... low life!" My father spat, grabbing my arm and yanking me away from Diego. The next thing I know, Karl had my father's hand wrapped tight behind his back locking it. "Let go of Mrs. Mendez.""She's not Mrs. Mendez yet!" My father snarled, digging his nails into my arm. Diego was suddenly in my way, one of his hands wrapped around my fathers throat as the security team around us suddenly swooped in on my family, splitting them up from one another. "You take your hands off my wife, now. You're a little late to object, we're married in the eyes of God.""You took everything from me!" My father howled. "We have nothing!""You lost everything because you ran your companies in the ground!" Diego snarled viciously as my eyes locked on Martha and Bobby taking my sons away, surrounded by their bodyguards. "And you're back to leech money! You don't give a damn about your daughter! I won't allow you to use her as a pawn in your endless games! She's mine!"I felt my fathers hold tighten and then let go. I was quickly grabbed by three of Diego's security team as Diego grabbed my father on either side of his jacket and began threatening him. "Stop it!" I cried, trying to make sense of what was going on. "Why do you always have to try and ruin every good thing in my life?""Yo-" I cut my father off, "You don't care about me! Not once did I receive a call to ask how I was - how your grandchildren were!""They are my enemies children!" My father spat angrily. "They are your daughters children!" I hissed back, pushing past the security team and going to Diego as he let go of my father, almost dangling in the air. "You ruined my life and the only happiness I have found, you're trying to ruin it!" I turned to Diego, "Where's your cheque book?""In my pocket?" He replied, his brows raised as to where I was going with this. I opened his pocket and wrote out a cheque. "There's twenty thousand pounds. Is that enough for you to leave and never come back?""I don't want his money!" My father declared, his venomous eyes staring as if to strike me. I shrugged and ripped it tiny pieces and let it fall to the wind, scattering away. "Obviously it wasn't as much as you were expecting. Shame, you leave with nothing. Karl...-" I looked at Diego's personal bodyguard and ordered, -"-Get them off my island."With that, I turned away as the security began dragging them off. "I know how hard that must have been, Gatito," Diego came behind me, his arms on my shoulders. "No." I turned, taking his face in my own. "Please don't let them ruin our wedding, Diego. Come... dance with me!"I dragged Diego back on the sand and began dancing with him, the music coming back on as though it never stopped. "I love you." I declared, stroking the hair on the back of his neck. "I love you, Mi amour." My love.
