A break from reality. This write up does not relate to a real life experience. But I guess all form of writing has a way of tugging at our heart strings. And the fictional world is every bit as much worth writing about.
Genre: fan fiction
Based on: In time (2011)
Expiration DateWhat if we all know the day we are going die,
Our bodies carrying a perishing date like every product we sell and buy,
Like a stop watch counting down as we can't avoid looking down at the time,
Reminding us that one day it'll stop ticking and it will be the end of our life.
Well that is the fate of the world that I live in,And today is the day that my watch will stop ticking.
Ten years ago I thought I had a long way to go,
Five years after and I just kept moving with the flow,
A year ago I began to really feel the blow,
Six months after I did the things I always wanted to do,
Now a few minutes to go and I sit alone in my room,
Watching the time run as my life flashes before my eyes.
I remember counting down to cut my cakes, shouting Happy birthday.
I remember counting down with strangers when the year ends and screaming happy new year.
It was seconds left and for the last time I began to say.
"5",
"4",
"3",
"2",
And at the last number,
"Happy death day."
