chapter 5

elena was at her locker with katherine

"so you got rebekah a date for the dance on friday but not yourself" katherine said

"your going with stefan bonnie's going with damon rebekah's going with matt and caroline's going with tyler no one's asked me to go with them" elena said

"i'll be  back just go to class" katherine said elena walked in class and katherine went  to find rebekah and kol she found them talking at the lockers"whats the big idea"

"what did he do this time" rebekah asked glarring at her brother

"my sister he's taking her you told me he was taking her and yet she's still telling me no one has asked her you have to marry her in 3 months i know you've talked to her cause she's not cussing everyone out" katherine said

"you forgot to ask her" rebekah said"i reminded you to ask her and you forgot are you kidding me"

"ugh you originals are impossible you and your brothers are the same want something but can't commit to it you don't even deserve her" katherine said and walked off

"i second that your an idiot you don't deserve her" rebekah said and walked off

at the end of the day elena was heading to the forest to take a walk she looked and seen kol standing against a tree smirking "figureed you'd be here"

"i'm  a vampire who likes to be in the woods" elena smiled she was wondering why he was looking for her though

"the woods are calming" kol said

"yes they are this is where i go when i disapear its been that way for as long as i could remember" elena said she loved the woods they were really calming and they helped with a lot of things

"i used to come here when i was human it was calming it helped being alone" kol said

"when your a twin you always want to be alone" elena said they continued walking through the woods and eventually came to a grass clearing they seen a  bench and went to go sit down

"or when you have 4 other siblings" kol said

"ooh" elena sighed

"yeah i'm the youngest guy my sister is the other youngest i have three older brothers my youngest brother he died" kol said

"ooh thats sad to hear i don't know what i would do if kat or jeremy died i may argue with her a lot but she's always been there for me when i needed her to be" elena said she felt a tear slip down her eye

"how so" kol asked

"well when we were turned bonnie's grandma gave us the rings kat took it upon herself to learn control first so she could teach me cause she knew i wouldn't be able to handle myself if i hurt someone who was innocent she was always there for me when our parents died and i couldn't even be the one in that stupid sacrafice they grabbed her and i had to beg bonnie's grandma to bring her back cause i couldn't handle being alive knowing she gave her life to protect me again i might be the older twin but she acts like the older sister" elena said

"do you want to go to the dance"  kol asked

"my sister got to you didn't she" elena asked

"yes she did and she was very mad that i forgot to ask you" kol said

"i didn't think you'd want to go" elena said she was surprise she thought that he wouldn't even want to go

"i honestly don't but you want to go" kol smiled he couldn't believe that he was actually starting to fall for her

"thanks and we still need costumes" elena said

"what are you thinking" kol asked

"its a surprise just wear a tux" elena said she had an idea and especially since it was too late to go shopping because she had a thing for procrasinating

"deal" kol said they talked for a little while longer getting to really know each other than he took her home

katherine was sitting in a booth in the grill with rebekah stefan and bonnie

"where is elena" stefan asked

"the woods" katherine said she knew that is where her sister always went

"hopefully thats where my slow ass brother is" rebekah said

"how did he forget to ask her i wanted to slap him so bad" katherine said

"he forgot" bonnie asked

"yes my slow brother forgot to ask elena to the halloween dance" rebekah said

"how" bonnie asked

"i don't know he told me he was gonna do it the first week of school" rebekah said

"did y'all consider the fact that he may be nervous around her you said it yourself he hasn't done anything bad since he met elena and talked to her that day in the woods maybe he's scared he's gonna hurt her" stefan said

katherine hadn't thought of that that he would be scared of hurting her sister only thing she had been thinking about was that her sister wasn't cussing them out everytime she seen them"you could be right"

"my brother is not scared of anything only nik cause of that stupid dagger" rebekah said

"what dagger" stefan said

"there are daggers that can desicate an original the only thing that can harm an original" katherine said

"kol had been daggered quite a few times over the last thousand years thats why they wanted someone to calm his attitude he's only been around about 500 years the other half he spent in a box" rebekah said they all felt bad for him they couldn't imagine living like that

"kat don't you got to get home" stefan said

katherine looked at the time"oh shit i'm gonna get introuble she wanted us home at 5"

"i'll take you" stefan said him and katherine got up and headed to her house he dropped her off at the door and she went in and jenna and alaric were sitting on the couch

"where is your sister" jenna asked she was tired of them seperating especially with the originals in town she wanted them to stay together

"i thought she was home already" katherine said

"you were both supposed to be home 20 minutes ago" alaric said

"sorry i was at the grill with bonnie stefan and rebekah i haven't seen elena since school ended" katherine said

"we only have her for three more months and she keeps disapearing"jenna groaned and vamped upstairs she was sad that she was about to loose her niece and it seemed like she didn't even care she wanted to spend time with elena before elena disapeared
