[Sora X Reader]

You were fourteen years old and lived on Destiny Island with Sora, Riku and Kairi. Even though all four of you were best friends, you were the closest to Sora. You had a massive crush on Sora. Riku teased you about it a lot and Kairi seemed to support the two of you even though you could tell she had feelings for Sora too. One day, Riku found a paopu fruit.

"Hey (y/n), do you know the legend behind the paopu fruit?" Riku asked you while repeatedly tossing and catching the yellow star shaped fruit with one hand. You shook your head no.

"It is said that if two people share one, their destinies become intertwined. Hmm, I wonder who you'd share this with?" Riku said in a teasing manner as he glanced at Sora, who was hitting blitzballs with a bat as Wakka tossed them at him on the beach. Then Riku glanced back at you in a teasing playful manner. You blushed a bright shade of red.

"Sh-shut up! You know who I'd share it with already so why are you even asking?" You said with a pout.

"You know who I'd share this fruit with? I'd share it with you." Riku said, smiling and winking at you. Riku had a crush on you which he didn't exactly hide. But he knew you had feelings for Sora and not him so he never made any serious moves on you. He only joked around about it like this time.

"Ugh gross!" You said teasingly, giving Riku a disgusted look as he just laughed. Kairi chuckled too.

"If you want to share this paopu fruit with Sora, you'll have to race me for it." Riku said as he started stretching for a race. You'd do anything to be with Sora even if it meant sharing a fruit with him with a superstitious legend attached to it.

"You're on!" You said as you got up and started to do warm up stretches as well.

"Alright you two. First one to reach the beach wins. On your mark! Get set!" Kairi said raising her hand.

"Go!" Kairi shouted, quickly lowering her hand as you and Riku took off. Riku was ahead of you, but you were determined to beat him to get that fruit if it meant you got to be with Sora for the rest of your life. You pushed yourself harder and began to catch up to Riku. You both were almost to the beach and were now neck and neck. With the last of your energy you gave yourself a short burst of extra speed which was enough to propel you past Riku and onto the sand of the beach where you slowed to a stop and collapsed out of exhaustion.

"Whew! That was a close one! But you won fair and square (y/n)." Riku said, panting from the intense race. He then walked over to you and handed you the paopu fruit.

"You earned it." Riku said as you smiled up at him.

"Are you sure you don't want to share it with me?" Riku teased as the smile was erased from your face, replaced with a look of annoyance.

"Kidding!" Riku said as he laughed. Kairi finally caught up to the two of you.

"Great race you two! Man you guys are fast!" Kairi said, out of breath because she ran all the way over the beach as well. She wasn't part of the race, but she didn't want to be left behind.

"I'm thirsty. I'm going to head home to get a drink. See you guys later!" Riku said, heading towards his house.

"Me too. That race really took it out of me. I'll see you later Kairi." You said goodbye to Kairi and headed home with your paopu fruit prize. Kairi waved at you before heading home herself.

~Time Skip~

It was nighttime and you were in your bed, listening to the ocean waves and staring at the paopu fruit you won from Riku. Suddenly, there was a storm in the distance quickly approaching the dock where the boats were. Worried about your guys's boats, you stuffed the paopu fruit into your pocket and got out of bed. You rushed to where your four boats were being kept. As you approached the dock, the boats were still there but there was what looked like a black hole in the sky. You heard Sora's and Riku's voices in the distance and went in that direction to investigate. You arrived just in time to see tendrils of darkness ensnare Riku and Sora. Then came a flash of light that was too bright to look at. When it was gone, Riku had disappeared and Sora was standing there with a giant key-like object in his hands. All of the sudden, these weird dark little creatures with yellow eyes started popping up all around you. They started coming towards you. You tried to hit them away, but that didn't seem to affect the little creatures.
