Monday morning came all too soon. I wore slacks and a long-sleeved blouse with a high neck, covering all bruises. When I made it to my car, I found I was the only one here. Either they stayed somewhere else, or they were already at work. I shook my head, dispersing my thoughts before getting in my car. I drove in silence this morning, wanting more time to think over my actions this weekend. I wanted this week to go by smoothly, maybe it would open up to a month that would go smoothly. Then the rest of the year- yea right.

I walked into my office and settled at my desk, opening my laptop. I clicked through a few emails and found two I needed to read. One was from Itachi and Neji, the new drug research information that I needed to review. The second was from Madara, asking me to meet him in his office at eleven this morning. I sighed and continued working, knowing there was nothing I could do to stop this train wreck that was coming.

"Asami?" At the sound of Obito's voice, I closed my eyes, collecting myself before I looked up over the laptop.

"Yes?"

"Will you walk with me for a second?" I cocked my head and blinked at him before standing up, showing him that my phone was on the desk as I walked out with him.

We were quiet as we walked, me following the dark-haired male. I wasn't exactly sure as to his destination nor the subject of what we would talk about, but I would talk to him none the less. I was harsh on him yesterday, and he was only trying to make sure I was okay. Obito took me to the cafeteria and then outside to were more tables were offered. It was chilly today, and my shirt wasn't the thickest material, so I shivered as we approached the railing.

"Planning to throw me over?" I joked.

"Funny." He smirked as he leaned against the metal bar, "I can think of a few others I'd like to throw over."

"You and me both," I responded as I mirrored his stance.

We both looked out over the city, the autumn breeze blowing my hair around my face. I shivered again and brought my arms in closer, crossing my arms on the bar. I couldn't help but close my eyes when the warmth seeped into my skin as Obito sat his jacket on my shoulders.

"I'm sorry." I could hear the sorrow in his voice and I wanted nothing more than to wrap my arms around him and take all the pain away, no matter where it came from.

"I'm sorry, Bito, but I'm-"

"Shisui talked to me." His voice sounded hopeful almost. "I know Zabuza isn't the one who left your body like that, he respects you too much. Plus, " Obito cut his eyes to me, "You didn't have a mark on you in that dress Saturday night."

Well, I knew he was smart, but I was hoping he'd be too mad at me to think about it. "Bito-"

"I'm not asking questions. I'm not judging. I'm not- I'm not going to overstep." He sighed, looking back over the city before he said, "I do have one question though, that's it." I hummed, afraid to speak, "If I could walk away tomorrow, would you go with me?"

I whisked my body around to face him completely and my mouth hung open in shock. I felt as though we were skirting around a subject and it was a dangerous one. A sudden gust of wind picked up and his jacket was lifted off my shoulders as we both watched as it fell over the railing and into the streets below.

"Y/n, " That deep voice rang in my head, but I didn't look to the owner.

"I wouldn't walk, Bito." Obito finally looked to me, my answer slicing into his flesh as though I held a hot blade to his skin. Madara was a few feet away, observing, I cut my eyes to him, then back to Obito, and finished answering without hesitation. "I'd run."
