Hubris

Hubris - deadly pride.

People flawed with this:

ANNABETH - She takes great pride in her work and believes firmly that she could change the world for the better.

BELLEROPHON - He was also extremely proud, and forced his way on Pegasus to Mount Olympus. Zeus, disapproving, hurt Pegasus with a gadfly, who bucked and Bellerophon fell from a great height to his death. (Reason #365 why I hate Zeus. He hurt the Pegasus and killed one of the decent male heroes.)

ARACHNE - I need not say much about her. She was an exceptionally skilled weaver, so much that she rivalled Mother at it. But as every child of Athena's first lesson is, "Mother knows best," Arachne thought she could beat Athena, and did that too, but she hurt Athena's pride with her own and her ignorance. Annabeth also used her hubris to trick her.

To deal with them, do anything BUT hurt their pride.
