Theme Song: Kinda Blue & Hwa Sa - I Can't Make You Love Me
———————————"Thank you." I say to the waitress who places my latte on the table.
Practicing for my upcoming recital at campus has not been easy since the construction for one of the older buildings at the institution has been taking place. My professor had issued me a musical piece that requires to be played with an accompaniment, Yoona, a violinist in my class. We have been practicing by her place for the past few weeks. She even has a grand piano at her house which makes it quite convenient for us to practice together. Well that and the fact that her parents are rarely at home, I'm surprised that despite both being on the board of directors at a hospital they are okay with their daughter pursuing music. Talk about supportive parents.
The steam of my latte begins fogging up the window I am seated near and I realise just how cold today is. The temperature has been dropping more and more lately. It makes me realise how close the first snowfall is. It could happen any time from now. It could be within a week or two, a few days or even in this very moment. I look at my laptop screen in front of me. After studying my sheet music for a while I ended up looking for dresses online. Considering that I do not have anything fancy in my closet, I would need to get me a nice dress for the recital. But instead of finding fashion websites, I ended up going down a rabbit hole of Kpop gossip sites and articles. Who knew that people could write such trash and others could easily believe their bold and audacious lies at the same time. It's no use contemplating the matter anyway, the media will always be the media, anything for a juicy story. Whether the story be a hoax or not, they'd go with it.
My fingers hesitate over the keyboard as I ponder on whether to type the words or not. My self conscious mind urges me to take a look around the café, at the minimal customers present, before typing. It is silly, I know, but the precaution just feels instinctive.
I type the name, Choi Soobin and anticipate as the search engine loads the results.
A sigh of relief escapes my mouth as I see that the news related to his name are all good. I frown, what Sang Hoon had mentioned the night he tried to harass me has been bothering me ever since. He had rambled on about some nasty rumors involving Soobin and I that had been circling his exclusive group. However, by the looks of it, nothing seems to have reached the media yet, and for that I am truly glad.
My cellphone rings on the table and I answer it.
"Mi Rae." I greet her.
"Guess what?" She says over the call. "My schedule cleared up today and now I have the whole day free to myself."
"That's great, I mean, you've been really busy lately so it's great that you get to rest."
"Exactly, and what better way to do that than go shopping, there's quite a few things I wanted to get me anyway but haven't really found the time." She says.
"Are you sure that's what you want to do? And not just chilling at home cuddling up with your favourite snacks watching a marathon of dramas." I suggest.
"Girl no, you know that's not me. I like to be extra in the best way possible."
"Of course." I chuckle.
"Well lucky for you I need to go dress shopping as well, my recital is in a few weeks and I need something fancy." I say.
"That's perfect, where shall we meet up?"
