The day passed by faster with adrenaline pumping as a more and more impressive number of assailants popped up at us but also tiring.

Holding my forearm as fire spewed from my palm to incinerate the attackers before I sighed at the burning flesh smell and looked down at my hand, having yet against burnt through my gloves with the heat of my flames and burning them also, it wasn't even blue flames but the sheer number of times I had blasted someone away enough.

I washed them in the deep but small lake near us before joining Audrey.

"You should be careful." Audrey grabbed my hands gently, looking at them before I pulled them away and closed my fists with a serious look on my face.

"I'm fine."

"Mystery these gloves had been commissioned from a wild mage, they should never get it this state."

"I am fine, my body heals faster if it is my own magic hurting it." I was lucky I don't yet was at the parts to create blisters tho.

"Mystery..."

"Trust me on this one, I'll end up using magic more as my hold on a blade wouldn't be as solid as it is, you should look out for yourself." I brushed the tips of my fingers across her wrapped up shoulder, missing a parry from a rapier and it went through her left shoulder, lucky she is right handed, I'd have been in more trouble if that happened to me.

"I'm fine Mystery, as a mage you can help me a lot but who'll help you?"

"I can help myself."

I grabbed on her shoulders as I stumbled, a huge shock of magic to my soul's barriers.

"Mystery!" I grabbed my face with one hand, trying to fight off the spell's nauseating qualities but they were so disorienting, why do I always speak too fast?!

I felt a hand grab my hair and throw me to the ground.

I got to my hands and knees and threw up as the nauseating feeling was even worst, making my vision tunnel.
This person must have extensive knowledge on magic to be able to throw me off so hard I can't riposte and just can hunker down behind my defenses and try to hold them out.

Four cloaked figure passed by my vision as I heard Audrey yell at them.

I tried getting up to be shoved down, a foot on my head and it pushed it across the ground into what I threw up, a lowly move even for criminals.

"Tie her up and take the princess, the lord want to see her." Wait..

I blasted fire from my hands at the one standing on me but must have missed as I was kicked over.

"Stop! Please! She'll fail out of the trial if you take my gem, don't hurt her!"

"I don't know what you are on about lady but we taking you."

"Y-you... You are with that yeti." I spat out, extremely dizzy as I could barely fight as they pulled me up on my knees. "You are with the poisoner, the ambushers, the yetis, the fucking Shade... You are aren't you?!" I tried to spark my magic but it was to confused to mold to my will as I felt my arms cuffed in my back and then tied.

"Why yes we are, the lord is surprised how she is still alive so he wants to see her before death."

"You bastards, I'll gut you."

"I'd like to see you try." He laughed as my weapons were taken and legs tied. When I was picked up I felt a weight pull on my legs. "Dump her!"

"Mystery!"

I heard the weight splash in the water and took a deep breath before I was pulled under..

I trashed as I could, he was intelligent as he didn't let the spell on me go, wanting to be sure I died.
