They were walking back to the car, Jay notices a black SUV matching the one seen at the homicide they were working.
Jay: Hailey, that car.
Hailey: It's the one from the homicide.
Jay and Hailey begin a foot chase to catch up with the car.
The passenger side window was down and a guy stuck his head out with a gun and began firing shots.
Hailey: 50-21 Henry shots fired-
The bullet hit Hailey right in the chest mid-sentence.
Jay: Hailey! Are you ok?!
Hailey fell to the ground unresponsive.
Jay: Stay with me Hailey, stay with me.
Jay knew he had feelings for Hailey. He just wasn't ready to confess them. Now he's worried that he will never get to.
Jay: I can't lose you Hailey! Stay with me please.
An ambulance arrives along with the rest of intelligence.
Voight: Jay, go with her to Med.
Jay: You got it, Sarge.
