Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things (1)
Kylie's POV
"Come on, Sam, I'm begging you. This is stupid."
This had been the conversation I heard ever since Sam brought up the idea of going to their mother's grave.
I was up for it, knowing that maybe it would help Dean through his demons, but it would take someone to help him through it.
I just didn't know if I was that person right now.
"Why?" Sam asked confused.
"Going to visit Mom's grave? She doesn't even have a grave-there, there was no body left after the fire." Dean let out, you could hear the unevenness in his voice.
"She has a headstone." Sam pointed out.
"Yeah, put up by her uncle, a man we've never even met." He scoffed. "So you wanna go pay your respects to a slab of granite put up by a stranger? Come on."
"Dean, that's not the point." Sam sighed.
"Well then, enlighten me Sam" Dean shook his head as he drove.
"It's not about a body, or, or, a casket." Sam explained. "It's about her memory, okay?"
I bit my lip as I watched Dean's hand tighten on the wheel.
"Hmm." He hummed.
"And after Dad it just . . . just feels like the right thing to do." Sam let out sadly.
"It's irrational, is what it is." Dean rolled his eyes.
"Look, man. No one asked you to come." Sam let out annoyed.
"Why don't we swing by the roadhouse instead? I mean, we haven't heard anything on the demon lately." Dean tried to weasel his way out. "We should be hunting that son of a bitch down."
"That's a good idea, you should." Sam nodded. "Just drop me off, I'll hitch a ride, and I'll meet you there tomorrow."
"Right." Dean rolled his eyes. "Stuck . . . stuck with those people, making awkward small talk until you show up? No thanks."
Dean eyed me in his mirror before looking at the road again. "Unless you want to go Ky?"
I bit my lip and looked out my window. "I don't mind going to the cemetery." I nod. "I think it would be good to see it."
His eyes grew with fear for a moment before they softened.
He didn't say anything after that and continued his drive to the cemetery.
--------------------
Sam wasted no time in going to his mother's grave, while Dean stayed behind and awkwardly put his hands in his pockets.
I wanted to give Sam time alone, but I didn't want to be alone with Dean.
It was a hard situation I was in, but when I saw Dean's sad eyes along with his awkward posture, I knew what I had to do.
I crossed my arms around me and made my way over to Dean. "You don't want to go over?" I asked softly, leaning against the Impala next to him.
He shook his head. "No, there's no point."
"It might help." I offered, nodding gently towards the grave.
"Help what?" He glanced at me with a raised brow.
"You know what Dean." I let out. "You're angry all the time and-"
"I'm not doing this." He said pushing himself away from the car.
