Toni

"Say what now?" Janet head snapped in her mother's direction while I finished her coffee.

"If she call me daddy, I know I'm gettin in the panties." I mumbled scratching my neck as Janet pinched me.

"Ow."

"Goodie." I rubbed my arm turning my attention on pouring my cereal.

"What was that Toni?"

"Oh I was just singing a song ya know." I sat my bowl down going back for the milk.

"She's just joking momma mines out of order so ain't nothing been happening, we simply just been chillin."

"Alright, y'all chillin. If so why you got large marks on your thighs and Toni's neck look like you tried to eat her?"

"Shiii— I mean shoot lordt."

"Don't even say you got stung by a wasp or bee."

"We'll see momma—."

"Ms. Katherine I confess she jumped on me like a wild animal, see the bite marks. You raised a vampire—." I held my hands up

"Girl shut up." Her momma laughed as Janet smacked me in the back of my head. I grabbed both of her hands pushing her up again the counter.

"Don't put your hands on me like that." She but her lip, pushing up on me.

"Or what."

"You see this Ms.Katherine."

"I see." I let her go and went over to her momma.

"Momma right hand on the Bible last night was our first time in the whole seven months We've been together ."

"Really?"

"Yes ma'am ."

"She held out on me momma."

"May I ask why Toni?" I brought her the coffee taking a seat across from them

"Sure, basically I didn't want it to seem as if I only looked at her for that. I just wanted to make sure that we established a relationship not based on sex but mere feelings. That we understood our status which is not based on physical appearance. I care about her a lot, wouldn't do anything to hurt her. I just needed her to understand that before we took things any further, I didn't want her thinking that her body and body alone was why I found myself wanting her. I wanted her because of that first night we met I seen something that intrigued, that made me wanted to get to know her. Though we didn't speak much, I felt like her personality, spirit was what I wanted to know. Not for my personal pleasure or usage, but because there was more to her that met my eyes. I love her with everything I just needed her to know that mentally before I showed her physically." She held my hand as I squeezed hers tightly, she looked up over at me smiling.

Her momma just looked from me to her as she wrapped her arms around Janet.

"I just wished Latoya and Joseph see what I see. She's everything to me, treats me better than I can treat myself."

"Don't worry about them, long as you're happy I'm happy. I'm just surprised you held out this long."

"Momma now dang."

"Toni I'm not going to sugar coat here Janet was a sweet innocent little kid, but when we turned her loose she was who I wanted to be when I was younger."

"Oh Jan you ain't tell me all this."

"Well..."

"Mhm."

"I love you Toni."

"I love you too." She pecked my lips as we continued talking with her mom.

Janet

"Babe stop." I was hella ticklish and I now that she knew it she wasn't letting up.

We really didn't wanna go out today, we just been goofing off  and I honestly I think I've learned more about Toni on this day then all the other days.

"Ok I'm done, gimme a kiss." She grabbed me kissing me, holding me tightly as she laid me on my back.

"I could stare in your eyes all day. I can see my future every time I look in them and that only tells me that you're most definitely gonna be in it. I love you." I just smiled caressing her cheek, her eyes sorta sparkled or something shit. I don't know but I all I know is that something in her changed. She got off me holding my hand.

"I never took you to meet my grandmother have I?"

"No."

"Let's go."

"Now?"

"Yea, come on."

"Toni."

"Here, I'll buy you anything you want tomorrow and take ya out all day. Please I'm not asking for much?" She sat at the end of the bed holding my hand.

"No need to bribe me baby, I'll go anywhere with you." I put on her sweats and shirt, as she put on some jeans and her old jersey.

She grabbed some snacks, clothes, and a blanket just in case I got hungry or fell asleep. Grabbing her keys and me we headed out the door.

We left at 12  heading on a road to god knows where. We got there around 3, it looked so peaceful and quiet. There was elderly people that stayed in this community, they had flower gardens and some of the prettiest rose bushes I've ever seen.

"This is it." She pulled up to a blue house with a white picket fence and all types of flowers against it. She got out opening my side of the door.

"It's beautiful Toni." She smiled

"Wanna see something?" She grabbed my hand going to the side.

"Please don't tell me."

"I got hung on the window trying to sneak out, worse night of my life. My grandma let me stay there all day then when I finally fell she cut my ass. The good ole days." I shook my head at her

"And you told me you were an angel."

"Excuse me, Toni? is that you." An old woman from beside her grandma house stepped out.

"Ms. Sam, how are you?" She hugged the woman as they rocked back and forth

"My you've grown so much, it's been lonely without you here keeping me and your grandmother company. You use to sing to us so sweetly, I bet you still got that voice."

"I missed you and whew, maybe I do but don't tell her that." She looked at me reaching for me.

"And who is this pretty lil lady?"

"This Ms. Sam is my girlfriend Janet, she's a little shy though."

"No I'm not, hello." I nudged Toni then waved

"You look so familiar."

"Basically Ms.Sam I'm Michael Jackson's little sister."

"Wow, you know y'all do favor."

"I believe it."

"Ms. Sam my grandma, where is she? I tried calling before coming out here but I didn't get a answer."

"Oh Toni, I'm sorry she's been sick lately honey."

"Sick? What's wrong?"

"I don't know baby, but she's in the hospital and she's been asking for you nonstop." Toni didn't even say another word, if she could she would've left me standing there.

"Toni sweetheart you left someone." She turned around to see me still there.

"I'm sorry Janet."

"It's ok." We got in and she damn near got a speeding ticket, she had this shit like a race car.

If I knew Toni I know that this lady meant a lot to her, and if anything if something happens to her, I think I'll lose a little piece of Toni too....
