When I write, I don't do it to make people aware of how I feel. I write so that people are more aware of their emotions. I write so that people can explore their humanity.

Pain isn't something to shy away from. People always want the fire inside of them to be extinguished. Use the fire inside to make a statement with words, or art, or dance. True expression never came from only exploring the more benign emotions.

Poetry is all about expression through words. Anyone can be poetic, but what do they explore? What does one find in themselves after reading poetry and does it change them? Does it make them feel lighter, or heavier? Does it make them want to do something with how they feel?

When you read this, be open-minded and explore. Anyone can read poetry and think, "Cool, this is rhyme. I like rhyme. Rhyme reminds me of le rapper." (Don't mind the silliness). Let the words mean something and let them do something to you.
