The waves were crashing against the shore as her feet sank into the sand. Tears were pouring out of her eyes in a steady hot stream and her hand, clutched a golden locket, one that holds immense special meaning to her. Closing her eyes, she screamed her lungs out to the open, secluded horizon. As the sun set, she started ascending a nearby cliff, sitting down at the edge and letting her pent up emotions bottle up, chaining them down to her heart as questions linger in her head.

"Why is love so cruel? Can't love just be a romanticized chapter in her life? Seeking it was hard, loving it was a risk and losing it was pure torture."

Being a professional actress, concealing feelings she wanted to hide was an easy feat, but she knew keeping her feelings off this would not help her but instead make it worst, so she let it slide. She fumbled with the locket on her fingers as she let out a hard cry. Vulnerable squeaks emitted her body as she felt nothing but felt self-pity for herself.

And for the first time in a while, the beautiful, talented actress, felt salt in her wounds piling up as each second passes by. For the first time in a while, Son Ye-Jin was in unbearable pain.

Morning went by as usual. They were in Santa Barbara, an hour drive away from Los Angeles as they rented a beach house for a much needed short vacation. Their schedules had been jam packed and it really took a toll on their relationship, for the worse. Whenever they were home together, which lately was not very often, any conversation brought up would just lead into a fight and with no time to resolve them together, problems continued to pile up to the brim and it needs a long time to sort through, hence their short getaway.

Their trip to Santa Barbara was an unplanned one. They both needed this and they knew, it was about time they reflect on their lives, their priorities and their relationship.

Ye-jin smiled as she felt the warmth of her loved one radiate behind her under the covers as he wrapped his arms around her tiny frame. Everything felt perfect at that moment in their far-from perfect world. Despite the seemingly normal morning, there was still an uneasy feeling at the pit of her stomach. The vacation could be a distraction but there were still things to settle and it wasn't going to be easy.

"Good morning love." Bin's husky morning voice startled Ye-jin from her own world.

She lazily rolled to face him still locked in his arms as she smiled softly at him.

"Good morning jagiya. Any plans for today?" She asked.

"Why don't we just laze around at home for today?"

"Sounds like a plan!" She chuckled as he softly kissed the tip of her nose.

Everything looked picture perfect. He was making pancakes on the stovetop as she started on their coffees. Bantering about silly jokes, telling random stories from their youth, checking up on family, nobody in or out the room would ever imagine things to turn a full 180 by the time the sun sets.

Lunch time came and Bin and Ye-jin decided to head out to a restaurant that served fresh caught sustainable seafood for lunch, so they got ready and headed out.

"Ohh the lobster looks so good! I think I'll
have that. What about you babe?" Ye-jin said.

"I think I'll get the butter grilled herb-crusted king prawns." He said with a smile.

They placed their orders and went about how beautiful their view is from their seats on a high deck as it was overlooking the crashing waves and soaring gulls from outside. Funny how the view outside is such a contrast to the sound indoors. As their food came, they paired it with a bottle of booze to compliment the intricate flavors as they went about what to do the next day. Their last and final day there.
