The detention week was just as Taehyung expected it to be. Awkward and full of tension. Their detention professor made sure that taehyung was sitting far away from both the boys at an equal distance. He brought them math and grammar worksheets which Taehyung was okay with. And of course he did notice jimin and Jungkook trying to kill each other through their glares. Seokjin, also, made sure jungkook didn't spend much time with his boyfriend either as he was grounded. It was during the lunch hour only that they spent some time together and it was really frustrating jungkook.

However, Taehyung noticed that as the week progressed the tension between jimin and Jungkook declined. They weren't on talking terms, yet they weren't glaring at each other now. It made Taehyung happy because for once jungkook was not inviting trouble.

Taehyung's relationship with his father had taken a major turn. They were close now, the way they used to be when he was younger. His father shared everything with him during dinner, talks going from what he did at work to what is happening with the custody issue. He wouldn't say that he had made progress but he hadn't lost all hope. It was Friday night when Goongmin invited jungkook over for dinner and Taehyung couldn't have been happier.

So now, here he is, in the kitchen helping his father prepare dinner while they wait for jungkook's arrival.

"Don't be nervous son." Goongmin said smiling.

"What? No, I'm not nervous. Why would you think that?"

"You're setting the flowers in the vase for the third time Taehyung." Goongmin chuckled at his son, bringing the hot pan down from the stove.

"Concentrate on the pasta. You added too much salt." Taehyung mumbled, embarrassed by his involuntary actions.

The doorbell rang at that moment and Taehyung's heart jumped. He ran to the door only to pause right in front of it. He turned his front camera on and looked at his appearance, brushing his hair with his fingers and giving himself a thumbs up. He placed the phone back in his pocket and checked his breath before opening the door with a rapid heartbeat. There jungkook stood with his bunny smile and flowers in his hand.

"Kookie." Taehyung squealed. "They are so beautiful!"

Taehyung took the bouquet in his hands and hugged jungkook who smiled wholeheartedly. Jungkook pulled away and kissed his boyfriend on the lips first then his forehead. Taehyung gave him the house slippers. While walking towards the kitchen Taehyung realised with a jolt that jaebum had also brought red carnations for him. Somehow this reminder struck his heart with an arrow of guilt and sadness.

"Oh hello Jungkook." Goongmin greeted.

"Good evening sir. Thank you for inviting me over for dinner." Jungkook shook Goongmin's hand firmly.

"Call me Goongmin kiddo." Goongmin said. "Now take a seat. I'll bring the lasagna out of the oven in a minute."

Jungkook sat on one of the dining table chairs and stared at Taehyung who was busy setting the flowers. He frowned when he saw the sadness in his boyfriend's eyes, while his lips were curled up in a beautiful smile. Jungkook wanted to ask what's bothering him but before he could, Taehyung turned towards him and gave him his ever blossoming grin. Taehyung sat next to jungkook and giggled.

"You're allowed to stay the night." Taehyung whispered to jungkook.

Jungkook looked at him with wide eyes for a second then smirked and winked at his giggling boyfriend.

"Well jungkook I'm going to apologize in advance." Goongmin came with a tray of hot lasagna. "The pasta is salty. However, this lasagna is much better."
