Late in the summer morning'
I walk into you
2 seconds after I do,
Fall in love with you.

Can’t seem to forget
The crinkle of your eyes
The dimple in your cheeks
When you do smile

The smile, the one damn smile,
That shook my earth
Or The laugh you bellowed
When I stuttered to speak

Or the way you talk about your favourite
Coffee in the line
Makes me forget
All about space and time.

You talk about your favourites
While I imagine somethin else
All this while, and all this while
I searched for you, the sharer of my soul
And when I finally found you
Words don’t just come to me

How I daydreamed about you
For all those days
Or how my demeanor changed
From plaid shade of grey
To every color  of your face

You changed me….
And I did …..
You’re the love of my life
Is what I want to say

You mend me …
When I was broken as a glass
When you hugged me….
I found a piece of my heart

It hurts , it hurts so much
To love you
And to know that
You don’t feel such.

But it doesn’t break me
But makes me stronger
That one day
Maybe I would be more than a friend
Not the shadow in you back
Or the girl you met , at the coffee shop,
Who loves you as you love,
The expresso in your cup

I know that you are not alone,
That your heart belongs to someone else,
But is it a crime to love someone,
Even though they can’t give it back

I know she is great,
The sun to your stars
And the wedding ring you have on your finger
Says just as much

I don’t hate her though
Because she makes you smile
And I love everything in this world
That makes you feel alive

I know now that we can't share the dance you promised
All those years ago,
As now you have a family,
But I am dying alone

I know my time is so very near,
I imagine you at my bedside
Whispering love and shedding tears
But I do know , I do know,
That when this reaches you,
I won’t be here anymore

Maybe then maybe then,
I won’t be a shadow anymore,
Or your friend , who you  last met
I won’t be the girl who shares a coffee
I would the woman who loved you
Knowing you won’t
But still I have loved you
And always will be doing so

And I saw you at the coffee shop
When you were 20
And you still own my heart today
As you did years ago……..
