Y/N's POV

It had been a pretty slow day, as it rained most of the time. I was leaning on the desk when I heard the bell chime signaling someone had come in. "Hi welcome to Ben Silver- Sarah! Hey!" My mood changed when I saw Sarah come in, she was my best friend.
"Hey! I have someone who needs some help." She laughs as we hug each other.
"Hi, I'm John B." A tall brunette greets me.
"Hi! I'm Y/N. It's really nice meeting you." I smile. "You haven't mentioned this one before." I lean over and whisper to Sarah as she giggles.
"Yeah we hadn't talked much before this, I'm helping him get into the archives."
"Ooh, the archives. For what?"
"I'm not quite sure yet, he hasn't been wanting to tell me." We look over at John B and he's standing in the same spot he was, looking pretty uncomfortable.

"Okay come this way you two. You need something too Sarah?" I ask, as we lead into the little parlor area.
"Yeah, I didn't really plan for this occasion when I was out today." She laughs.
"How did you guys meet? You two really seem to be good for each other." I smile as she shakes her head. "Well we officially met when he started working on Ward's boat. But today I was out grabbing some food and I saw him fly over a fence off a bike, turns out the kid was a fugitive."
"I am not a fugitive!" John B says from behind us. "Okay, sure John B." We giggle and walk towards the racks.

"Okay John B, looking at you I'm thinking pink." I say, running through racks, trying to find something pink.

"Okay you two both have your outfits, which might I add look great. This might be the first time I put all my effort into my job but we're not going to say that to my manager because I quite enjoy my job." We laugh and I ring them up.
"Hey Y/N, we want you to meet someone but that would mean you would have to come with us to the cut." Now the problem with that was I was the definition of 'Kook'. I didn't enjoy being on the Pogues side of the island. But John B seemed like a good guy and I'm sure if he was a good guy his friends would be the same. Right?
"Okay. When?" I asked with maybe too much confidence.
"Well, what time do you get off?"
"8 P.M. Long shift today." I sighed.
"Okay we'll be back here around 8 to pick you up." John B said, which was one of the first full sentences I had heard from him that day.
"Cool. Text me if plans change." She nodded and they walked out holding hands.

The rest of the day went by pretty slowly. I had one other customer. It was around 7:45 when Sarah and John B came busting through the doors. I looked up expecting it to have been the wind but to my surprise it was those two. "Hey guys, I still have 15 minutes left on my shift, you can just hang out in the waiting area or the back room." I said, reorganizing shelves. "Come on how many other customers have you had?" Sarah laughed, pulling my arm.
"Fine. I have to sign out and grab my stuff, I'll be back in a sec."

"Okay, I'm ready." I said throwing my rain jacket on. "Cool. John B and I stopped by his place to grab his van. It's really cool by the way." I noticed John B's face heat up a bit when Sarah said that last part. I nodded and we got into the van. I noticed it had quite an aroma, but I was used to by the end of the trip. John B and I talked a bit as we drove, getting to know each other a bit. Sure we knew each other from parties and stuff but again, I was a stereotypical kook, so I didn't really know him.

"And here we are. Home sweet home." John B said, pulling into a small drive way, with a little house on the water. I smiled and jumped out of his van.
"Wow this place is really cool." He looked down at me and shrugged.
"Yeah, I guess so." we laughed a little and Sarah jumped out as well.

"JJ, Pope, Kie I'm home!" John B yelled as he walked through the door.
"Geez John B two girlfriends? Dang." Someone who I recognized as JJ, said walking into the living room. I blushed way too hard and JJ noticed.
"Hey wait you're Y/N right? Queen Kook?" JJ mocked as someone I didn't recognize walked through the door into the living room, along with Kiara.
"JJ, lay off." Kie said, approaching me and hugging me.
"It's good to see you again Y/N/N." I nodded and smiled at her.
"Wait you two know each other?" John B asked "Yep. Y/N was one of my closest friends when I went to Kook Academy."
"Oh. Well that's good. One less introduction." John B laughed.
"Y/N you know JJ, this is Pope. He's kind of like the brains of our group." I smiled and shook his hand. "Nice to meet you."

We were all sitting on the dock when I got a bit hungry. "Hey John B, I'm a little hungry, do you mind if I go grab a snack?"
"Nah go ahead." He smiled.
"Thanks."
"I'm kinda hungry too I'll go with you." JJ said, getting up to walk with me.
"Okay."

"Hey I'm sorry if I came off rude earlier, I was just kind of expecting you to be like Topper. And I shouldn't have, that wasn't very fair of me. I'm sorry." He sounded sincere when he apologized but I didn't know if I should trust him.
"Wow. JJ Maybank apologizing? Haven't heard of that one before." I giggled and he laughed a little too. "Yeah, I'm not great at that. Hey uhm, would you maybe wanna come on a boat ride with me tomorrow? It could be just us, or the gang, whichever you feel more comfortable with." He smiled. Damn that smile is going to be the death of me.
"It sounds to me like you're asking me on a date here JJ." I smiled.
"Maybe I am. Would you be mad at that?" "Definitely not." I said, leaning up to kiss him.
