chapter 5

When Bryan woke up, he immediately noticed the extremly joyful aura around Mario, which caused him to tilt his head slightly.

''Mario? What's got you so happy?'' Mario smiled as he answered, sitting up.

''I'll tell you when the others get here.'' Bryan tilted his head and sat up as the door opened, Cassie, Kay, and Jakey walking in.

''They're here now, can you tell me what's got you so happy?'' Mario smiled as Cassie nodded.

''Yeah Mario, you were acting a bit off when you found out about whatever it was that you were told that made you happy. What was it?'' Mario ignored her as he faced Bryan.

''They're alive.'' Kay and Cassie looked confused, Jakey looked slightly unsure of whether or not they were what he thought they were, and Bryan froze and teared up.

''Th-they're alive... my babies are alive?!'' Mario smiled at him and nodded, causing the tears to fall from Bryan's eyes as he hugged Mario sobbing into his chest with a smile.

Cassie and Kay looked surprised while Jakeh smiled softly, giving Kay a look when she whispered to them.

''Bryan had kids?'' Cassie shrugged and Jakey sighed, noticing Mario giving them a glare because he heard what was said.

Cassie and Kay flinched at the glare while Jakey had a thought.

''Do you want me to tell them?'' Mario shrugged and looked at Bryan, who nodded as his sobs began to die down a bit.

''Follow me and I'll explain it outside of the containment cell.'' Jakey grabbed Kay's arm and dragged her out, Cassie following behind them.

Once they left the containment cell, Jakey let go of Kay's arm and Cassie raised an eyebrow.

''Why do you know what they're talking about but we don't, and why couldn't you just tell us in there?'' Jakey sighed and told them what Mario told him.

Kay was pale and Cassie was stiff, both with expression of horror.

''Poor guy... he went through so much...'' Jakey nodded as Mario left the containment cell, looking at the three.

''We're done working for the day. Let's go home and leave Bryan to rest.'' Thr group nodded as they all left the room, talking about other things that had happened that day.

Later that night...

Bryan was wide awake as he laid on his bed, his tail twitching every so often.

He had been awake for an hour at this point, being kept up by a feeling. A feeling that something bad was going to happen...

Eventually, his eyes started to droop, almost falling asleep until the loudspeakers used to announce things to everyone in the facility went off.

Warning! Warning! The chaos insurgency is attacking! All scientists get to the nearest safe room and all guards be on the look out for any members of the chaos insurgency!

Bryan felt the color drain from his face as he quickly stood up, leaving his bedroom and walking around his containment cell to try and calm himself. It had worked for a little bit, and he eventually calmed himself to the point where he wouldn't have a panic attack.

A few seconds later, a gas bomb was thrown into the containment cell. Bryan's eyes went wide as the gas spread around the room he was in, coughing and growing dizzy as he breathed it in on accident.

After a few seconds, Bryan collapsed to the floor, coughing badly as his vision became blurry and his eyes drooped. Eventually, his body went limp and he passed out, the last thing he saw being a figure looming over him with a smirk on their face.
