renee and leo montgomery, elizabeth's biological parents, were never meant to be a good couple. before they were married, they worked together. renee worked under leo, more specifically. she was an intern bookkeeper and leo was an accountant with a few years experience over her head. there was obvious sexual tension between the two of them in their office, however, the age difference (19 and 31) was unsettling to leo, so he distanced himself from her as much as he could.

it only took one night of him working overtime with her for renee to get pregnant. afraid of what leo would think, she kept the pregnancy a secret from him until she quit the internship. he was thrilled when he heard the news. even if they were not in love, he thought that the best thing to do was to marry her, so he did. she moved into his apartment while they looked for a forever home for their family.

leo was anything from the perfect husband or father.

all throughout her childhood, leo made promises that he didn't keep of attending birthday parties, graduations, award ceremonies, and soccer games that he missed time and time again. then, there was the yelling matches him and her mother had on the nights that he came home later than usual.

their marriage lasted a year and a half before renee filed for a divorce. rather than bother with joint custody, leo agreed to send child support and moved across the country.

lizzie was devastated. she cried for weeks to mourn the loss of a parental figure she seemingly never had. her and her mother grieved in different ways. her mother remarried only a year later and started a family with her step father, luis. they had five kids together and lizzie looks out for them. she never wants them to have to go through anything she did.

she is like a second mother to them. she is kind and she loves to teach them life lessons. she hangs up anything they make her on her walls as a reminder that she is loved. she often worries that her parents won't be able to care for their kids, so she started to do cam girl shows. it is just her, her face is never shown, just her body.
