MATT DILLON (DALLAS WINSTON) AND DIANE LANE (CHERRY VALANCE) DID NOT REALLY GET ALONG IN REAL LIFE.
During the filming of "The Outsiders," Diane and Matt claimed that they didn't exactly know each other very well, so they didn't exactly get along in real life. It wasn't like they didn't have respect for each other, because they did, it was only like they would never hang out with each other and never really talk, and Diane even said in an interview that she didn't really like him very much when they first started filming. However, the two co-stars are now good friends after starring in "Rumble Fish" together as each other's love interest.
