WHEN EMILIO ESTEVEZ (TWO-BIT MATTHEWS) PICKS UP A HAT OFF THE GROUND DURING THE SCENE WHERE THEY'RE WALKING TO JOHNNY'S HOUSE, IT TURNS OUT THAT THE HAT WAS JUST A CREW MEMBER'S AND WAS BLOWN OFF BY A FAN.
That scene wasn't scripted either, and all that they were supposed to do was go up to Johnny's door, Johnny was supposed to hear his parents fighting, and decide to sleep in the lot. However, when Emilio saw the hat, he decided to make a small little moment out of it. Turns out, a crew member was looking for it when a giant fan blew it off of his head.
