Weeks had passed by since the party at Tyrone's and Joelle had been thrown into the famous life head first. She had been offered a record deal so she was almost always in the studio, picking songs for her first album and recording them. Jack, although living with her for the time being, barely got to see his best friend. He understood that she was working hard to make sure that her dreams weren't short lived but he missed her.
"Hey, can we have a movie night tonight?" Jack's deep voice asked his best friend as she woke up from her lie in. He was heading out to training and he wished that she would say yes.
"I wish I could but we're finishing up the album tonight. Tomorrow?" She suggested, automatically feeling guilty for not being able to spend time with her best friend. It had taken them so long to find themselves in each other's lives again and here she was, a stranger in the passing.
"I'm playing tomorrow." He sighed, feeling defeated. All he wanted to do was have a conversation or be in the presence of his best friend for longer than five minutes but it was proving to be difficult.
"Of course," Joelle cursed herself for not remembering that the following day was a saturday, the days that he played.
"Hey, don't look so disheartened. We'll have a day to ourselves soon, I promise." The curly haired girl desperately tried to cheer up her best friend but it was no use.
"You keep saying that, Jojo and nothing ever happens." The hurt in his voice was evident and the guilt inside Joelle continued to build.
"I'm sorry, Jack. I'm trying! I really am." Her eyes fell to the ground as she spoke, not being able to take seeing her best friend's hurt expression.
"A word of advice from someone who also struggled at first in the new world of fame? Prioritise what's most important to you and make sure that you don't let it go." With that, Jack left the house, leaving Joelle to think about his words.
She knew exactly what she was supposed to do.

When Jack Grealish returned to the Jarrett household after training, he expected to come back to an empty house. That's exactly why he almost jumped out of his skin when he saw that Joelle was standing in the hallway, waiting for him.
"What are you doing? I thought you were working on your album?" Jack was blunt, trying not to be bitter about it because he knew how much it meant to her.
"I finished it and I took your advice. come." She grabbed hold of his wrist and lead him out to the back garden.
The back garden had a fabric teepee tent set up in the middle of the grass with blankets and cushions set inside to make it more comfortable. Joelle had hung fairy lights around the garden and had even set up a white sheet and a projector to make a homemade cinema.
"You still up for movie night?" The smile that appeared on Jack's face made the smaller girl's heart flutter.
"Before you pick a film, I have something that I want to show you." The pair walked over to the teepee and sat down in it, Kevin already laying comfortably in his makeshift bed.
Joelle picked up her guitar that was laying on the blankets and Jack couldn't help but wonder what she was up to.
"I wrote a lot of songs about you after our breakup so I wanted to write a nice one about you." The two laughed at Joelle's words before she started strumming her guitar and softly singing the words to him.
"And I will follow where this takes me,
And my tomorrows long to be unknown." Joelle was nervous to sing the song to Jack. It was the first love song that she had written about him that wasn't fuelled by anger or resentment. Instead, it was fuelled with what she felt inside of her currently."When all is shaken, be my safety,
In a world uncertain, say you'll be my stone." As soon as Joelle put down her guitar and stopped singing, she looked to her best friend, waiting for his reaction."I love you." Were the three words that the Brummie boy uttered out before leaning forward and pressing his lips to hers.
He was exactly as Joelle remembered him to be but with slightly more stubble.
He was gentle with her, he always had been because he never wanted to hurt her. His arms wrapped themselves around her waist and pulled her in closer which made Joelle smile.
"Movie?" The Brummie boy asked as they both had to pull away for air.
The curly haired girl nodded and let Jack pick a film before settling into the cushions and resting her head on his chest.
She hadn't said it yet but she hoped that he knew. Joelle loved Jack, she always had and she hoped that this time, their careers wouldn't stand in the way of what they had.
