where did you learn to inhale cigarette smoke like air, not poison?
where did you learn apathetic affection
to plea drunkenly
"just stay" batting your lashes
smile against kisses
avoidant gaze on my closed eyes
and hoping they stay that way forever
so I won't see you in that light
the vulnerability because my hands are cold and I hid them under yours
so you can feel that I need you
