Illiana's POV
"Illiana why? Why did you betray me?" Mom asked with a pained expression on her face.
"What are you talking about mom? I will never betray you" I said before reaching for her right hand.
"You're the most important person in my life and I will do anything to make you safe" I added afterwards.
"Really? Then why did you choose Sky over me?" I frowned at her.
I'm about to explain when her whole body starts to bleed.
"Mom!"
I immediately opened my eyes and sighed when I realized that it's just a dream. I turned on my left side afterwards and my eyes widen in surprise upon seeing Sky, naked and sleeping sound. Suddenly, all that happened last night came rushing to me.
I gently got off my bed and scooted my way to the bathroom. I want to erase the traces of her scent on my whole body. I slapped my forehead when I removed my negligee and saw lots of hickeys from my boobs down to my legs.
"I'm screwed!"

Her confession kept on repeating on my mind like a broken disc. I should be happy that she finally confessed because it's part of my plan, but I'm feeling the opposite.
I cursed afterwards when I remember how I allowed her to take me the way she wanted. I felt so vulnerable last night, must be because of the wine and exhaustion.
I finished taking a bath after almost twenty minutes and I went straight to Uncle's room as soon as I'm done fixing my things. He frowned at me upon opening his door when he noticed my outfit.
"I'm going back to L.A. now" I informed him as soon as I entered. I sat on the side of his bed afterwards.
"I thought you'll stay here for a week?" he asked surprised.
"Carin called me. She needs help on killing her new target" I lied. He doesn't look convinced but he nodded his head in understanding.
"What should I tell Sky? I'm pretty sure you didn't tell her about your plan of leaving"
"Tell her that I need to do something urgently or whatever excuse that comes to your mind. Just let me know after" I replied before standing up. I hugged him afterwards, I really want to stay but as long as Sky is with me, I can't enjoy.
"I'm going to miss you darling. Stay a bit longer here next time" he said sadly before pulling away from our hug.
"I will, I promise" I said apologetically before leaving.
I arrived at the airport one hour before my flight. I booked the first class seat so I can rest well and turned my phone off to avoid receiving calls and messages from Sky.
She's starting to have an effect on me. There's a part of me that's genuinely happy when I heard her confession, but there's a bigger part of me that's angry and guilty at the same time.
Maybe the reason why mom suddenly appeared in my dream is to remind me to not forget what Sky and the others did to her. They are the reason why she's dead and my being Lady Mystique.

"Ma'am, please fasten your seatbelt, we're about to land in ten minutes" the flight attendant reminded me politely.
"Alright, thanks" I said before doing what she told me.
Sky is probably pissed off right now and I'm pretty sure that she will confront me once she comes back. She's the kind of person who will demand an explanation on everything. I shook my head to erase the thought afterwards.
