▬▬▬▬▬▬ She rubbed her eyes, finally awake from her slumber. Laying on her bed, staring straight ahead to the ceiling, (Y/N) could not bring her mind to think about anything but the intimate moments she shared with Haruka Nanase the night before. Their friend group had made plans to go to carnival, and (Y/N) and Haruka spent the majority of the night trailing behind the group as they lazily chatted among themselves, basking in the glow of the sunset and the tangerine colored skies. The distant noises from the people riding the thrilling coasters and the constant smell of funnel cakes is something she would never forget. It was the perfect night, especially when Haruka had told the girl that he wants to get to know her. The infatuation was mutual.

She was excited to start something new and young.. You could even call it timeless. Not only that, but she was now being regarded as one of the fastest freestylers on her university team and she hadn't even peaked yet. Her times continued to cut down by the milliseconds. Suddenly, all of her hard work, all of the investing she did in herself, began to pay off.

But not let's get ahead of ourselves.

Pulling herself out of her warm & cozy bed, the female winced when she sensed a sharp strain imposing on her shoulder.

"Ouch," she breathed out. "It's probably from one of those crazy rides Asahi made me go on." she mused. Pain was a normal occurrence for swimmers- it was something you have to push through to get stronger. However, when you're not careful, it can break you ten times over and it won't offer you a hand back up.

(Y/N) chose to label her shoulder pain as tension and not anything serious, as the girl had never had a serious swimming related injury before. She was at her peak now, nothing could slow her down. Everything seemed to be going seamless for once in her life, and it made her feel nothing short of invincible. And she was always taught to take the good times as they come, and not worry about what could go wrong.

In retrospect, maybe she should have worried a little bit.

She headed off to school, catching a shuttle ride with Hiyori and Ikuya to their university as they headed to class and she headed to practice. Sending her friends off with a quick goodbye, she embarked on the walk to the university pool. That was, until she bumped shoulders with someone whilst she was scrolling through her messages. Her phone clattered to the floor, and she looked up at the male.

"Oh, I'm sorry-" (Y/N) had started, her mouth hanging open when she realized the man she collided with was none other than her childhood friend, Rin Matsuoka.

"Geez, (Y/N)," he scolded, picking up her fallen phone. "You really need to be more careful."

The girl did a double take, poking the red-haired male's cheek to see if he was really standing in front of her. She blinked twice. He was still there.
