It was a relatively normal day. The little girl playing in her room. Her pitch-black, long hair swaying along with her movements as she danced around her room. She had a massive grin plastered on her, seemingly showing that nothing could ruin her mood.

"Yukako, dear, come here please!"

Upon hearing her father's voice, the ravenette, now addressed as Yukako, stopped what she was doing and replied, "Coming dad!"

With that, the little girl ran down the stairs, towards the living room where she last saw her father. Stopping next to the tall man, she noticed two people stood before them. A woman and a little boy.

The boy couldn't have been much older than Yukako. Maybe about one or two years older than said female. He had short, deep black hair that framed his face perfectly and was wearing a jacket, that covered his hands, with black pants.

Noticing the boy's eyes, the little girl couldn't help but stare. His left eye was a rich, deep purple. So deep that anyone could get lost in them. His right eye, however, was a different story. It was a dull purple, almost silver color. It was clouded, almost as if he couldn't see from that eye.

Yukako cocked her head in question only to have the boy smile back at her. A small, broken smile but, a smile, nonetheless.

Now focusing on the woman in front of her, Yukako noticed that she had short, brown hair and the same colored eyes as the boy next to her. She was of average height and wore a grey blouse with blue jeans.

Noticing the little girl's stare, the woman looked at Yukako and gave her a smile. The smile that grazed her face made Yukako shiver. Even though it was their first time meeting, Yukako already knew that something was off about this woman. She gave off a dangerous aura and the little ravenette did not like it at all. Not. One. Bit.

Before Yukako could burst into tears, her eyes shifted, falling onto the little boy once more. This time she noticed how sad his eyes looked. A worried expression crossed Yukako's face as a protective feeling came upon her.

She felt the need to protect this boy and she didn't know why. It didn't matter if he was older than her or not, she wanted to be there for him. And she will be.

"Yukako," the ravenette looked up at her father in response to hearing her name.

"Say 'Hello' to your new family. Their names are Ruth," he motions to the brown-haired woman, "and Elias," her father finishes, motioning to the black-haired boy.

Yukako's eyes widened, then narrowed. She sent a glare towards her father, her left eye twitching as it does when she gets upset.

It's not that she has a problem with meeting new people. In fact, she often met lots of people due to her father's work but, she didn't like the idea of having someone ruin how her life was now. She was content and happy with it just being her and her father, and she didn't want anyone to ruin that for her.

Kneeling, Yukako's father looks his daughter in the eyes. He places both of his hands on her arms, rubbing comforting circles on her shoulders.

The tall male gave the little ravenette a smile, "I understand how you must feel having new people enter our family but, please understand. This is going to be good for the both of us, okay dear? Ruth is a good woman and Elias is around your age. You guys and play together."

Hearing the boy's name calmed Yukako's hostile mood down a few notches. She glances at Elias once more and, in response, the boy smiles at her. Yukako couldn't help but smile back as her anger dissipated.

There was that feeling again. The feeling of needing to be by this boy's side. The need to befriend him.

Looking at her father, Yukako gave him her best smile, "Okay daddy, I understand!"

Without their knowledge, a devious smirk crossed Ruth's face. Upon seeing his mother's expression, Elias stiffened.

Oh, how he wished that Yukako's father was right in saying that this would be good for them.
