Tori's POV
Night had already fallen by the time Carl had left and me and Elijah had settled inside.
I set him up in the guest room that was right across the hall from where my room was. He should be unbothered because we were the only ones here. I asked my mom if she could keep Leo away from here for as long as he could last without his stuff.
Random thoughts just kept rummaging through my head as I took the duvet off my bed so that I could climb in and sleep off the exhaustion that was this day.
"Knock. Knock."his deep voice along with two knocks came from my doorway. I turned around to see him leaning against my doorframe.
"Elijah. Hey. What's wrong?"I asked him as I stopped what I was doing to stare into his blue eyes and give him my full attention.
"Uhm. I was wondering if you could help me apply the scar ointment to my shoulder."he scratched the back of his neck while holding up a small tube that I hadn't noticed until now.
"Ofcourse."
"Thanks."
He then made his way over to my bed and sat at the edge. When I walked over to him, he handed me the tube and proceeded to take off the too tight shirt that I had let him borrow from Leo's closet. When it was no longer covering his body and I took sight of his chest, my face heated up.
His chuckle and smirk only made it worse until I finally looked away to the small stitches under his collarbone.
I grimaced before squeezing a small amount of ointment on my fingers before stepping infront of him and applying it to his wound. He flinched at first but then relaxed when he got used to my touch.
I took my time while rubbing the cream on his skin, trying my best to apply the least amount of pressure as possible, but with Elijah's eyes glued to me, it was hard.
When I think I've applied enough, I stopped my hand movement and replaced the cap on the ointment tube.
When I was about to step away, Elijah grabbed my wrist and pulled me to stand between his legs while he rested his hands on my hips.
"I really missed you Tori."his voice came out as a mere whisper, making my legs start to feel like jelly.
"I missed you too."
It was like I was hypnotized. My eyes bore into his as much as his bore into mine and I couldn't control myself. I crawled into his lap and straddled him, my hands snaking their way around his neck. Elijah was taken aback but he quickly recovered and placed his hands on my ass.
"Can I ask you something?"his question brought me back from the bliss that I was in. An overgrown lock of hair fell infront of his eyes and I quickly brushed it away before nodding.
"Do you remember the last thing I said to you before the cops took me away?"
Ofcourse I remembered the last words he said to me. I will always love you. I replayed them in my head every night before I went to bed for 7 years. It was my last glimmer of hope I had that he would eventually come back to me.
But I was scared to tell him that. Scared that if he knew the truth he would think I'm some psychopath that lives off of fantasies.
"I don't think so. What did you say?" I know. I was being an insecure bitch but I didn't want to risk it.
"Tori, when I was being arrested the only thought running through my head was that I might never see you again. I was being forced out of your life and it killed me. When they pushed me into the back of the cop car and my eyes caught yours through the glass I mouthed five words to you. I will always love you. And trust me I meant it. I love you Tori. Always have and I always will."
