am i dreaming??

yes i'm in a dream. midoriya said as he was sleeping, suddenly seeing his younger self. that young boy, wearing an all might onesie, running around, proclaiming that he'll be a hero like all might someday.

"this is your opportunity." all for one said as he handed midoriya a gun. "kill him."

"wh-what?" midoriya stated in shock. kill him?? kill myself?

"don't worry, the present you won't die. you just have to let go of your past self." was what the man said.

midoriya stared at the boy, who's hopping around outside his house, playing, without a care in the world. that bright smile and bright, emerald green eyes that shine brighter in the sun, with a smile that makes everyone smile as well.

he shakingly pointed the gun at the boy, but young midoriya doesn't seem to notice him. i can do it. i can do it. i have to let go of my past.

i can't. in tears, midoriya's hand hesitated to pull the trigger. but all for one stood behind him, whispering. "don't you want to be powerful? and prove to everyone, to all might, to your childhood friend, that it's their fault they broke you?"

in a split second, all of the bad memories midoriya had with bakugo, and that one memory he won't ever forget: when all might rejected him, all of those flashed in his mind.

and the shine in his eyes slowly started fading. his hand stopped shaking, and stared dead at the boy still running around.

and he shot him, with a loud bang that can be heard everywhere. there was blood seen spatting out of the forehead, as the young boy fell into the ground. blood generously poured out from the back of his head and from his forehead, as his wide-opened eyes started to lose their brightness.

under the sun, the only thing that shined was the rich, red color of blood.
