Chapter 29: Reunited

"Enrico Grimani! Not Bradley Constine...am I right?" as he's baiting him with words I've kneed the guy in his family jewels. He releases my hands as I reach for my veil. My hands are tenderly held.

"Mi Amor, may I have the honour?" he gently requests. I nod in response, the sweetness of his request and just him being here all soften me. I look at him as he lifts my veil.

He's smiling, ever so tenderly. His Hazel orbs draw me in, The adoration in them undeniable. He strokes my cheek with the back of his fingers. "You are gorgeous Regina. I'm sorry it took me so long. "You're here now" I reach up cupping his cheek.  The warmth and relief that course through me overwhelm my heart.

Our moment is interrupted by a very awkward coughing. "Sorry to interrupt guys but we need to leave right now!" Conrad all but screams at us as Brad pulls me down and starts rolling to get under cover I'm assuming. There are gun shots all around us. "Come on our rides here, just around the back here." Conrad is directing us as we cower forward.

"I need a gun guys!" I all but scream at them as we're cowering along trying our best to avoid being shot. Before they could pass one to me a black tinted SUV. The door flew open and we barely made it into the still moving car. Gus somehow managed to not only get them away from Enrico's goons but safetly to Gramps hideout. Gramps was fuming at Grimani's blatant disregard for the rules of the Familia. If there is one thing Gramps was not going to tolerate is disobedience.

As soon as we all entered, Gramps came over and held my hands, Regina come stai?stai bene? I simply nodded at his query not having the energy to reassure him of my safety or wellbeing. He seemed reassured and moved onto check Bradley and Conrad in turn. After he was satisfied with everyone being safe and well enough. he moved onto explain the rest of the plan.

I was trying to focus on what Gramps was saying but it was all coming in as nonsense. The throbbing in my head just kept getting worse and now my vision was getting blurry. I was trying so hard to focus but nothing was clearing up. I was starting to sway and with the last words of Italy...
